Let's define Party for a minute "a social gathering of invited guests, typically involving eating, drinking, and entertainment." I think you are referring to one type of party, although many are indeed childish, there are a great deal that aren't. But I wouldn't expect someone who generalizes parties as a childish activity to ever understand. Get out of the rock you have been living under and make some friends.
