You're forgetting revenue from actual sells. Yes, the $500M is over TEN years and was not just for Destiny 1 (which some forget), but budget increases as long as net profit increases. Shareholders do not like to see companies sit on excess money. They want it to be reinvested. Also, Activision most likely increased their investment due to the success in sells.

Actually, the 500 million was only for Destiny plus its add on materials. It is the most expensive game ever made.

k. I heard Bungie was spreading that out over the series But aside from that, budgets are always much larger to successful companies pulling in profits. Destiny 2 will have a nice budget and won't have to worry about initial developments and just work on expanding and fixing. Should be interesting in what they come up with.
