If you go back in time and look at the 'breaking in' pages, you'd see that it's not at all uncommon to go way over 8 hours a day. At 50k/y for that level of work, that's pretty low, not to metion that 50k/y is not enough to support a family any more. Now, I don't actually believe they only make that much, I'm just sayin.
