Not that it matters, but IMO the only change that was needed was the pulse rifle buff. I may have to dust of my red death now.
The rest of the changes just seem silly to me. ARs seem about perfect right now, and as one of the traditionally easier weapon to use in pvp, it makes sense that the majority of casual players prefer them. Cutting the range down on them again is just going to raise the learning curve and keep the occasional gamer out of multiplayer. Which seems counterintuitive for a balancing patch.
Shotguns/fusion rifles are annoying in crucible for sure, but if you're going to include them they need to be a viable option. So I guess we'll have to wait and see how dramatically their utility is impacted.
And any real noticeable drop in hand cannon range/accuracy is going to result in an even GREATER number of players running around with thorn, because it's "send it" perk is going to offset the patch and further distance it from other HCs.
We obviously won't know how it all shakes out until the patch is implemented, but from over here, this update doesn't seem terribly well thought out.
