Have you completed a hard raid from start to finish?
Could you lead a fireteam of new raiders through a raid?
Do you have grimoire higher than 2000?
Do you know what a commendation is?
Do you know how to use the relic in VoG perfectly?
Can you solo a nightfall?
Do you have above a 1.0 K/D in Crucible?
If they answered yes to all of these questions they are no longer a Christmas Noob.

Only one I can't do/don't know is the relic(I know how to cleanse but don't know some of the attacks)

I've done all of that besides grimoire score (not really counting my 1.0+ kd since I've hardly played)

This is sort of a strict listing, in my opinion. I mean, there are people that, even from day one, are still having an issue in both the crucible and the raids. I've had the game for a couple of months and while I have considerable in game knowledge, as well as out of game backstory knowledge, it's still hard for me to even get into a raid.
