Always wanted too. Shotty's do wreck majors, but with a 100% buff they may well be worth it.

Remember thou that the range gets a penalty as well. So you have to push it in the face of the enemy to make it useful. Why didn't you use them thou? Try maxing a Secret Handshake, it's a very good gun. Go for headshots close range and it will do nice damage. :)

Yeah? I had one and I grinded it to the max, wasn't impressed with it's PVE range. It usualy did just really weak damage from longer ranges.

Hand cannons we're likely why I never consciously equipped them for PvE, though there were always situation I loved using them, hordes of thrall etc, I think I'd only run with them most of the time if I'd forgotten to Un-equip a shotgun from PvP. Range hopefully won't be too much of an issue as I tended to be pressing the barrel of a shotgun on an enemy before pulling the trigger :p

Well Bungie has done a great job at reducing the range so much that you basicaly already don't have a choice but to push the barrel on enemy face before shooting. :p I'd imagine this nerf for range just worsens it.
