Why is Mars not WHITE

Why would the furthest planet from the Sun not be covered in ice and look like a desert? Space Magic? These things confuse me

A single day on Mars is about 43 minutes longer than a day on Earth. Their relative distance from the sun and difference in speed of orbit makes the temperatures on Mars much more varied from night to day. Earth's moon has a much more noticeable gravitational pull than bodies which orbit Mars. The atmosphere on Mars is much thinner than Earth's and contains much less oxygen. The atmosphere on Mars is thinner than that on earth so radiation penetrates to the surface easier but because Mars is further away the effects are lessened. So in answer to your query:
illuminati confirmed
