every time i use golden gun i die because no overshield... arc blade runs out and im screwed.. its so frustrating

Try a different class. I say that the Hunter class does not fit you. If you like to punch the ground go for Titan. If you like to throw a bomb go for Warlock. Maybe your problem with Hunters is that they don't fit your fighting style (I'm writing this out of experience; Titans DO NOT suit me well).
