Riddle of the Dead

This is my first attempt at a riddle. Who/What Am I? You found me, though you knew not my purpose. By obtaining me you killed me. The ones who wanted me found me useless. They returned me as a mark of bravery. You resurrected me from the sands of time. I brought you to an unknown land and allowed you to shatter me. Through this I have saved your master by sacrificing mine. And know, after all of this, I can finally see. Edit3: Explanation: [spoiler]"You found me…purpose." - The Queen sent you to retrieve a Gatelord's head, but didn't tell you why they needed it. "By obtaining me, you killed me." - You had to kill the Gatelord to get its head. "The ones…bravery." - The Queen no longer wanted the eye so they gave it to you as a gift. "You resurrected…time." - This is a play on words referring to the Spire on Mars. "I brought you…me." - The Gatelord's eye allows you to enter the Black Garden, and shatters to open the entrance to its heart. "Through this I…mine." - You destroyed the heart of the Black Garden to protect the Traveler. "And know…see." - Refers to the eye of the Gatelord.[/spoiler]
