Anyone with an interest in riddling is welcome.
1) Be respectful of others in the group wall. (We'd love it if you respected others outside the wall as well, however.)
2) No LFG or Spam of any kind in the group wall, unless specified by an admin (There should be an LFG post of some sort in the private section of this group's forum. If not, it's coming soon.)
3) We are here for riddling, so try to keep the chat as focused as possible on riddling-related conversation. If the chat is dead, meaningless chatter is okay, just don't clutter the chat with non-riddling things if someone is seeking feedback or the like.
4) If you aren't sure that a riddle will be well-received or you think the riddle may be faulty for whatever reason, ask me (Cadence) or an admin to review it (we have a rep to uphold, can't be shoveling out faulty riddles). I promise we won't guess, and if someone does, I'll kick them myself.
A few days ago, I sprung the idea to take a different angle to our usual riddling. The following quotes are separate accounts of a fireteam's experience upon finding something/someone very peculiar. Who/What did they see?
"I wasn't paying much attention to it. If it was somewhere else, I would've dismissed it altogether. I had my hands full. Do you know how hard it is to handle this group? By the luck of the gods I got them all in one mindset (even if one was dancing). We took out the enemies that we saw while avoiding the rest, rushed the objective, and then we saw it. Two of us got a good look at it too. I mean to say that two of us made it close enough, but all of us were still alive. Being a Warlock, I obviously perked up at the idea of a new find, a new advancement. But that thing..in the right light, I could swear it was looking at me. By that I don't mean my body, but my very being, like it wanted to take me. It was enticing. But I had a team to lead."

"Clearly you didn't see my MLG FaZe skillz when we went down on those scrubs. I mean I was dancing about ninety percent of the time but - Oh. You want me to talk about THAT? Why? There isn't much to tell. I'd much rather talk about how I was screwing with the tryhard the ENTIRE time, telling him he couldn't do something so he'd get himself killed. But yeah, it was there, we all saw it. They treated it as a sign of something else. I started acting like I was possessed by a demon to scare them... They didn't take too kindly to that one. If only they knew that I wasn't acting. It wanted to take me, but I b*tch slapped that hoe back to wherever it came from. Like I said before, MLG FaZe skillz..."

"I went in expecting a breeze. What I got was a hurricane. No challenge for me, these guys are lucky to be in my presence. That good for nothing scrub messed with me the whole time. I couldn't focus. He kept telling me to kill myself, but I didn't have time for him. We quickly killed the enemies then went to our objective... Then I saw it, and it looked me in the eyes. I felt an odd connection. It was obvious the sight was troubling me, but when confronted I silenced the speakers. The portal from reality and my own thoughts opened, as that..thing..stared into my soul as if it wanted to take me, but I showed no signs of weakness. I stared back at the figure with steely resolve and muttered, 'You cannot defy me.'"
The Tree of Ruin
"Pfft. You came to the wrong place. I break the unbreakable. We went in, guns a blazing, though one danced. One of our own collapsed, but we kept on. After the battle, only two made it, yet we still all lived. We found IT. The warlocks marveled, the rest felt uneasy. I could not bring myself to look at it. The dancer seemed to be affected the most. I could feel it staring at me, like it wanted to take me. I almost let it, but I had to be strong, because no one else would."

"Telling of my demise does not matter, I will still meet my demise. It's logic. I felt myself slipping. But I was still there. Ready or not we sprinted through plenty of enemies, I heard, "We're crushing them!" and I felt a bit better. After the fight finished we arrived in a room, only two had made it, but we were all alive. Once inside I was shocked, yet I still didn't let out a peep. We are not alone, I saw that... Figure... And it was staring straight at me, like it wanted to take me, but I left before it could."
CREEP1NGDEATH21
"An activity involves skill. Skill turned into curiousity after this encounter for me. This weird figure just appeared when I ran into the objective area. The look on my face was priceless. All I can say was that it seemed to eat my heart away, little by little and attempt to take me. Not a hundred percent sure, but it vaguely reminded me of some other encounter like when my dinklebot (or whatever it's called, I don't know) asked me a very underestimating question. I didn't really get the meaning behind the figure, so- Wait, what? I don't even remember anymore, so you can just disregard all I've said."
Let me know if this format is less than convenient. I would hate to see you all under such frustration, especially while under such frustration.
