Anyone with an interest in riddling is welcome. 1) Be respectful of others in the group wall. (We'd love it if you respected others outside the wall as well, however.) 2) No LFG or Spam of any kind in the group wall, unless specified by an admin (There should be an LFG post of some sort in the private section of this group's forum. If not, it's coming soon.) 3) We are here for riddling, so try to keep the chat as focused as possible on riddling-related conversation. If the chat is dead, meaningless chatter is okay, just don't clutter the chat with non-riddling things if someone is seeking feedback or the like. 4) If you aren't sure that a riddle will be well-received or you think the riddle may be faulty for whatever reason, ask me (Cadence) or an admin to review it (we have a rep to uphold, can't be shoveling out faulty riddles). I promise we won't guess, and if someone does, I'll kick them myself.

Riddle of the Lost World [Solved]

I'm going to make a bet before we even begin. I don't think y'all can get this before 1000 replies. Which one of you thinks you can prove me wrong? Who/what am I? "There are stories that only a dying spirit can tell. Only pieces still exist, but the whole was not ready to be accepted. Down in the darkest depths and out the the farthest reaches of the universe I existed. I was not alone in my time, but your eyes could not see the truth. Through these memory fragments, I remain, and what you are about to see will mark you forever. Prepare yourself and discover something more terrifying than death itself." Hint 1: You had me while you searched for another. You traveled across worlds with me. I contained an everlasting war that was, is, and always will be fought. Winner: FourCloud439013 Answer:
Journal of Toland, the Shattered
Explanation:
"There are stories that only a dying spirit can tell" Refers to how accounts of Toland's journal can only be found by grimoire cards, or dead ghosts. "Only pieces still exist, but the whole was not ready to be accepted." Toland's Journal is found in fragments, and even these were hard for people to understand. Many people dismissed Toland as crazy, so it could be expected that the entire journal wouldn't have been accepted as the truth. "Down in the darkest depths and out the farthest reaches of space existed" Toland went down into the Hellmouth to face Crota with Eris's fireteam. Other parts of his Journal suggest that he went other places out of our knowledge. "I was not alone at the time, but your eyes could not see the truth" Toland's Journal was accompanied by Toland himself, and in his journal, he talks about how people are blind to the truth of things like the Hive pantheon or the creation of the universe. "Through these memory fragments, I remain, but what you will see will mark you forever. Prepare yourself, and discover something more terrifying than death itself." Again, Toland's journal is in fragments, and the journal preserves Toland's legacy. The journals suggest a dark truth to the world that people will most likely be disturbed by. The hint talks about the exotic bounty Tolan's Journal, where you use the journal to find Bad JuJu. Also, in the Ghost Fragment: Darkness 3 Grimoire card, the journal talks about how fighting and war is a constant of life, where the players may change, but there will always be a battle.
