Cabal Lore

If you have found out a bit of Cabal lore, post it here. We promise we won't do anything with it.

Cabal Biology: Summary An analysis of Cabal physiology and how it infers conditions on their home planet. The Cabal are often, incorrectly so, described as "Space Rhinos" or "War Turtles". In fact, a closer description would be "Battle Toads". Cabal males are (on average) 800 pounds (nothing can yet be said about females, for they have not been seen) and amphibious; they are quite similar to frogs, newts and similar creatures because they require moisture to survive, either water or the black substance that erupts from their armour (in a quantity to vast for blood), and a high temperature environment, explaining the size of their suits taken by air conditioning and liquid invection. This means that the Cabal home world is very likely to be a "water world", AKA a large rocky planet mostly covered in oceans, as it would explain how a creature needing a liquid coating to survive could exist long enough to evolve into sentience. On the topic of size, I theorise that various aspects of Cabal biology and weaponry imply that the Cabal home world has very high gravity and, in symbioses of this, is likely quite large as well. In high gravity situations, organisms become larger (usually laterally speaking) to endure the increased pressure. This is clearly demonstrated everywhere in Cabal culture; they themselves are vast, their armour is made of heavy metal plating which they can carry due to their increased tolerance for weight (due to being used to it) and their weapons are larger and bulky to survive high G ratings where smaller components may malfunction. Analysis of Cabal equipment leads to another enlightening revelation; the Cabal Empire must be much more vast then we thought. Cabal Slug Throwers are amazingly customisable and able to be changed to suit a certain purpose, for example; Cabal on Mars have their Slug Throwers set to Low Velocity, High Impact to best deal with the Vex. Projection Rifles do calculus to determine direction that likely considers gravitational variables. This shows, in the least, that Mars is a completely different location to the last planet conquered by the Cabal and, at most, tells us that the Cabal Empire has conquered numerous planets of vastly varying properties. Adding to this that the Cabal use either heavy treads on their craft (in the case of Land Tanks) or energy propulsion (on every other Cabal vehicle) shows that they are prepared for a host of gravitational differentiation. Ultimately, the Cabal are a species of sentient amphibians whose biology suggests a high-gravity, high-humidity and wet evolutionary location and whose weapons, armour and vehicles imply a need to adapt to a large variety of conditions best explained by the breadth of a hypothetical Cabal Empire.
