[u][b]Pocket Dimensions:[/b][/u] It is noted that both the Vault of Glass and Crota's Underworld exist in their own planes of existence. The latter came into existence after Crota established the Hellmouth on the Moon, and the Vex may have been on Venus (as they were on Mercury and are on Mars) for aeons beforehand, until some event "activated" their physical activity. These revelations have heavy implications; the Hive are, through the co-operation of a demi-god, the Darkness, and the Hive, able to create their own pocket dimensions in which to exist. This both emphasises the power of Crota and the potential of Oryx, which will soon be learned. On the other hand, the Vex's dimension seems not to be spatial, but, rather temporal; existing across the 4th dimension of time, rather than in space.
