Vex Logic; Summary I (Motion) So, we've all been trying to figure out what the Vex are doing, planning and how they manipulate time to achieve these things. I'd just like to remind everyone of a fact that sometimes slips my mind and might slip yours too; literally EVERYTHING the Vex do/don't do is on purpose. To be frank, every kill you make, every conflux you scan, is what the Vex want. The Universe is a set of logical consequences and the Vex are (or were, thankfully) taped into. Every choice leading up to our killing the Heart of the Black Garden was likely planned in advance. Think, the Vex in the Garden were bowing down to the Darkness which is a non-Vex source; they were disobeying their programming. Our actions pruned a defective set of logic and gave Atheon higher dominion over the remaining Vex units. The Vex also WANTED us to breach the Vault. There was only one thing the Vex did not see coming; Kabr. The Aegis in the Vault is a paradox, you see, and they are the only way of destroying the logic (Vex logic) that the Vex control. You see, in the same way that the Oracles, Gorgons and Atheon himself create holes in logic and throw you into them, Kabr's shield creates a paradox that even Atheon cannot correct. The Shield breaks through the Templar because it causes the Templar's barrier to have never existed; the time we shoot at it is time the Templar uses to recreate another barrier. Atheon cannot shoot through the cleansing power because his shots get pulled into the paradox. And the Shield can cleanse Guardians because, in the alternate reality being near the Shield generates, you were never infected. In killing Atheon, Guardians defy logic and, literally "make their own fate", manipulating reality in a similar way to the Vex. Kabr, in binding himself to the Vex, has become a God.

You guys? I have no idea of the programmings Aphix Invasive (like anyone would actually have at this point) and Virgo Prohibition.

Not really a question but I wanted to see if you have any theories about this quote "In the vault time frays and a needle moves through it. The needle Is the will of atheon. I do not know the name of the shape that comes after the needle." This portion of the VOG grimoire card has always interested me. To me it seems pretty clear that it's saying there is something after atheon. What do you think?

Atheon: Atheon (Latin for Atheist) thought of the Black Garden as a pathetic thing and that the Vex were superior to it and worshipping it was useless. Therefore, he and a group of other Vex that thought like him, the "pure" Vex (If you notice, the Vex inside the Vault of Glass are different from the ones from outside). He then went to the Vault of Glass, it is still unknown if Atheon made the Vault of Glass or if the Vault of Glass made Atheon. After arriving, he started sending Vex from the past and future to the Vault of Glass, to raise his defenses. He pretty much didn't want to be part of the "religious" Vex. So that's Atheon, a super Vex that controls time and space inside the Vault of Glass that didn't worship the Black Garden. Also, it is believed, and this is in Grimoire Cards, that the world we're living in is made by Vex. What do I mean by this, the Grimoire Card says that every single person has a Vex version of them, that will do exactly what you do, so they can predict the plans we have against the Vex and stop us. Our only hope from getting away from this would be by informing Rasputin, the Warmind, since Rasputin is unpredictable and would be the only thing that could stop the infinite loop. Explanation of how and why oracles and gorgons can kill a whole fireteam: the vex view reality as a program, that being said the oracles are able to rewrite this program and erase your team from reality. Luckily the oracles can only be summoned by a Templar vex, it wasn't until recently that fallen from the House of Wolves learned to manipulate them. Gorgons are similiar in the abilities they have but gorgons must have you in their sight to do this. For now these vex have only been seen inside the Vault of Glass.
