Earned gear vs bought gear
I read something today that peaked my interest and i decided to rant a bit. To start. The only guns iv had to earn so to speak r the exotics thorn exc. But the others or random drops and i don't feel that is earned that's more luck if you ask me. But i guess if u put in more time because u have no job or wife that nags u when ur on then it's easier to play all day. That's not the case for most of us here on dod right. And by the way it's not like we're can just double jump over to the crucible dealer and just get what we want. It's like 2 weeks worth of game time to earn the marks. And yes i think the drop guns some times have better perks but it's a bit of a crap shoot cause u just don't know what you ll get. And for all the firstdayers that think there better than all the rest because they waited in line to play that first night hit me up and ill put my thorn so far up ur 👌ur teeth will start to glow green. A guardian is the same no matter how old or noob u r hit me up on ps4 with the psn deadsight187 and we can go on a panty raid in crotas place.

I have no interest in the various "I'm better than you because" I wouldn't care if Xúr sold Vex or Raid gear. There will always be people who can't do these things and to not be able to get part of the game because people aren't able to get it, is a bit off. By all means, bump the cost up massively, make it 30 coins for raid gear/Vex/etc

How many times have you seen someone in crucible get a less than .5 KD and get a exotic or a great legendary....happens all the time. Some guys ran HM VoG once and got Vex others have run it 20 times and still haven't gotten Vex....so who earned what? Bottom line is everything is RNG so just because some fool has a Vex doesn't mean I'm going to bow down to his awesomeness. Everyone earns what they get and they get what RNG gives...and on occassion when Santa Xur has something worthwile all those weeklies you ran pay off....you want some prestige points go play Magic the gathering. That type of Noob vs Firstdayers, earned or not earned, real 32 vs fake 32 stuff only exists in the main forum, which is why I don't go there. There is no room for that here where our voices don't crack and our balls have dropped...the day DoD members starting talking that jazz is the day I change the channel....stay true to the cause DoD'ers.

1 ReplyAll are in some way earnt, I bought my first exotic gun and 3 armour pieces, earnt buy collecting many coins. I later got one from a nightfall drop (well earnt) and later got vex from a raid, again well earnt. now a mate shot a vandall on a strike and got an exotic! Did he earn it, well yes as he has done the grind like us all and finally got a break. What matters is you have fun and enjoy those lovely exotics no matter how you get them.

Most "I earned x" or "Xur ur ruins the game" threads in #Destiny seem to be from the heavy pvp crowd. What they are really saying is "I got x gun as a reward for doing something hard, I want it to be proof of my skill". That sentiment is fine, but all the exotics are based on a global RNG. Anyone can get any gun from pretty much any post level 20 activity. Imho give all Xur sold exotics a slightly different skin / color palate and most of those threads should dry up

It's best not to pay attention to those arguments on the main forums. I've seen it where people believe they "earned" it because it was pulled from a chest or a strike/match reward. I've also seen an argument where someone said the "earned" weapons are the ones bought from xur and that weapons from chests or strikes/matches are welfare chump weapons. Do I care for either of these arguements? Nope. Won't lose any sleep about it. I do believe exotic bounties definitely count as earned weapons. With the exception of thorn, I have done each exotic bounty at least twice. I know I've done bad juju at least five times. Why buy shards when I earn them! XD!
