Was my first exotic . Still used it after the expansion screwed all early exotics and before they upped damage for pulse rifles. I was finally able to upgrade my red death today! Sucks having to lvl it all over from scratch to geet to 331 though =)

Yes get it. It is the best gun for HM Crota and with the buffs it's great in pvp.

If you PvP it's a 2 head shot kil

No its not

I wanted this weapon for so long and now that I have it I'm not so sure. I'm really finding it annoying that when I need my icebreaker , i have to swap it out. The perks look cool though , so if you have the extra coins get it.

For PvE: It is usefull mainly for the exotic perk. Every kill will start your health regen. This is especially helpful with the hard mode crota encounter. Damage wise Red Death is still just ok. Despite the damage buff to all pulse rifles the damage output is less then a good scout rifle with Firefly or a handcannon. It is comparable to an autorifle. The low range hurts though. PvP: So long as all shots in a burst are precision damage you will kill most players in 2 bursts. This AND the health regen is amazing. The lack of range compared to most pulse rifles is not as noticeable in most Crucible maps. Tl:dr PvE - Get it. You won't use it all the time, but you definitely want it some times Pvp - Get. It. Now.

I am not a fan of it generally, but it is a gamechanger for Crota hard mode. The endless supply of thrall provide a handy health regen any time you need it.

Edited by djbeatright: 3/13/2015 4:07:48 PMBUY BUY BUY! I'm getting at least one, possibly more. *edit* I'm primarily a PvE player, a hardcore raider if you will. I'm buying for use in CE HM and for the collection aspect of the gun.

Just know that thorn is red deaths nemesis in pvp. Thorn eats reds ability to heal n makes it a simple wall of bullets.
