How often do you cancel a post?
I found myself wanting to post last night and just thought...no, that's dumb. I canceled the post, and probably saved everyone from wasting their time.
So, my question...how often do you cancel a post?
Tell me what makes you decide to cancel, if you do.

1 ReplyI love each and every one of my posts dearly. As you can tell I'm pro-post. It's not a religious thing either, I could just never cancel one, even if I found out it had a misspeling errer somewhere or was grammatically incorrected. I commit fully to my posts. They are like additional children, but who sometimes underperform and need re-education in the dungeon. That's what we call the basement library. We don't actually have basements in this area so it's more of a hole dug into the dirt in the crawl space with a couple cinder blocks holding the plywood door down. It lacks plumbing and electricity and waterproofing, but we make up for it by having that stuff in the rest of the house.

I've canceled because of time, I usually go back and post when I do have time.

Have yet to cancel a post. I don't think i have edited either. I only say dumb things in retrospect, so I try not to read what I write to be safe.

7 RepliesThe longer my response is, and the more time I have to think about it, the more likely I am to cancel. Most often though I cancel after I start to get sarcastic or when I find myself rising to troll bait.

If I cancel a post it's normally before I even start typing. I have to stop and decide if I really want to reply or comment. It happens more here on the main forum or admin group. My posts are either useful or smartass. Now and then I actually close the mouth before I put my foot in it.

I'm always concerned that I'll offend someone or that my attempt at humor goes a little to far.

1 ReplyI would say 1 in 20 posts of mine get cancelled. I find myself asking "How does that really sound?" or "Does this comment REALLY add to the discussion?" Guess I spend too much time looking at my replies/comments from other members point of view. PS. This post alone was cancelled twice. :)
