More of a comment than a suggestion, I spend most of my DoD forum time on the iPhone (not great but it works). I recently logged in via my tablet (won't do that again bungie.net is not built for Surface) and my PC (slight improvement over the iPhone and Surface) I also went back to my old WoW guild web page and blizzard.net for comparison. It feels as if most of the issues with the forum are linked to the limited tools associated with bungie.net. I know a website is in development (props again to the admins and guys working on this, I would love to help but it's not my area of expertise) maybe we could lobby bungie for better tools

Love it...possibly more than the game....keep up the good work and thanks again....

I would love to see a fatherhood section just like the strike one you put up a couple of days ago. I miss those discussion!

Edited by naturl selexion: 9/26/2014 2:16:48 AMI think there should be four stickied threads, one each for each console for building friends lists/fireteams. That would make it much easier to find playmates. Currently, there is only the Clan Connection thread which caters to all consoles - but when it comes to serving the purpose of the Clan Connection, most of the content is of no use to you because it covers three consoles that you are not interested in. Posting in the X1 only thread should get much better results than posting in the Ps4/PS3/X1/360 (current Clan Connection) thread. The Unite and Invite thread created today is not a bad idea, except for the fact that the signal to noise ratio is too high. Most of the people posting there are not compatible with my console - it will be the same for everyone.

I look forward to the general topics on this forum. The posts about looking for a fireteam or looking for psn friends should be posted within a subclan. If you can't find a DoD subclan with an open slot to join as a clan, just can at least join a subclan as a member and post those kind of messages there.

FYI: DoD X1 Moon Clan is open for more members. We currently have 80 members. Can you change that on the Clan Connection page?

I have something.... What happened to the conversation on here. I remember pre release, there used to be posts that invoked conversations about fatherhood/parenthood. It's frustrating being in the forum now, you have to filter through miles and miles of, "any DoDs out there, level 25 warlock looking for fire team" Just my .02, would be nice to get back to the way it was. Edited by RalphMoustaccio: 9/23/2014 2:04:10 AMI have two pieces of feedback. One will be more helpful than the other. I'll start with the latter to get it off my chest. In recent days, I have seen what I consider a daddier-than-thou attitude cropping up on the main board. Some have even suggested that those of us who have put in substantial time in game and raised our level accordingly are not, in fact, fathers. Yes, I and my other high-level compatriots are running an elaborate ruse to take over the Dads of Destiny. That seems likely. More likely is that some us us work 8-5, have a kiddo who goes to bed at 8 pm, and get on for a few hours after he or she goes to bed. What is wrong with that? Is there now going to be a requirement to show the kid's birth certificate to be a member? I very much doubt it. I joined when there was something around 700 members in the group, and have been shocked (SHOCKED!) at the growth rate. I was worried that because of the huge influx of new members that the level of respect and discourse on this board would decrease. I've been pleasantly surprised, though, that everyone I have interacted with has still been super cool and respectful when they respond to comments. I don't appreciate, though, it being insinuated that I am somehow a bad father (or not even one at all) because I put too much game time in for someone else's liking. Perhaps more mod/admin interaction to shut down those types of statements is needed, such that it is even possible. I don't know, but it's been bugging me. Second, and actually constructive, is that the Dad-a-Base is having some problems. I cannot access the CST/PST list for PS4 players, which includes where I live, so it's hard for it to be useful in finding other players from those regions. Is anyone else having trouble? If so, can it be fixed? Also, most of my board posts and perusal is on my phone via the Destiny app. The D-a-B does not format well for mobile and is therefore hard to use on that medium. Perhaps that is just a Google Docs issue. I don't really know, as I don't use it for anything else.

Edited by dirteshot: 9/24/2014 5:12:48 PMLooking at the forum just now... 5 topics about queens wrath stuff, 4-5 topics looking for people to game with. The Queens wrath stuff could all be under 1 thread... but people create their own instead of looking for another. The main page should not be about looking for people to game with as much as it is. That is what the actual clans are for. People need to be referred to the clans sticky and join a clan. The main forum page should be about game content, and fatherhood stuff. I think we should get mods to start deleting the LFG type of threads and message the poster to join a clan in a very polite way. The LFG stuff should be in the clan forums, not the main Alliance forums...

Part of the issue may be the smartphone app (at least android). Sometimes the announcements show at the top of the latest tab, and sometimes they don't. So people who are only using the app to browse the forum may be missing these topics. I just know they exist because I've been a member for a few months.

On my way to work now but just want to say this thread will be taken seriously and all points raised will be looked into and if viable changes can be made I'll liaise with the team who are already discussing this and implement any changes which need to be made accordingly. On a lot of ways I'm feeling the website will provide the structure we need going forward but that still leaves being able to tidy up the boards here to make them more manageable and user friendly. Big ask of these boards I think as like I've mentioned before I'm a big app user and this app is my access to the DoD portal for the most part. The app really needs improving to be not only user friendly but admin friendly too. Keep your great feedback coming guys and don't be shy, speak you mind! :-) I'll be watching guardians lol Speak soon Kp

Hi all I've just popped back in to see what's up and really glad to see more feedback in here! Also like to thank neo and dfd for jumping in and commenting too guys cheers. Some more great feedback too it's great to really find out what's on people's minds and if there's anything we can do to try and fix issues I guarantee you we will do our best to address what's been put before us. Keep it coming guys and thanks for your support!

KP, Great thread and thank you for your commitment to DoD. -I agree with some of the posts regarding clan description for clarity. -I'd like to add, but more in a suggestion to clan admins rather than just general. We took the time over at SaVy to add a mission statement and a new member intro thread. I think admin participation in the clan is huge. Several of our new members had mentioned lack of organization or participation in other clans. -Last one, I think establishing some sort of fun monthly challenge or contest would be a blast and another great way to make DoD a step above the rest. I have a few ideas I would like to pm you if that sounds at all like something admin would be interested in. We are all Dads first and gamers second but I feel if your gonna take the time to establish a clan them embrace it, enjoy it, work on it, and it will be a great place for fellow dads to be, all one big family under the DoD banner!

I'm with DoD Alpha. So far things have been great. Smoked the Crucilbe last night with various folks from the DoD Alliance. I think the real issue, for me, is a lack of clan tools in the game. With out these tools, i have to resort to walking away from the game, come over to the computer, search the fourms, and add them to my PSN friends list. That''s a hell of a lot of work to group up in a clan. (I'm old school, no tech in my home like cellphones and Ipads). I'm still wet behind the ears here in DoD but the idea of what DoD is and aims to be is perfect to me. Ultimately, i think Bungie needs to iron out/add some new game systems for clans. In game clan roster, better in game communication, removing the cap on 100 people per clan and more ways to be social in game rather than outside the game.

Guys so far I'm reading so much good feedback it's really appreciated a lot! One more night shift for me now then I've got three days off and my nights will be fuelled by admin on here lol destiny will take the old back seat for a bit to allow proper time to focus on here. I have to go to bed now as my eyes are burning like crazy but rest assured I'll be back and I'll keep checking to see if you guys have posted any more amazing feedback :-) Great job everyone and keep it coming! I'll do my best to reply to everything and to update on progress You guys make this group the awesome place I'm so proud to be a part of, and with your help will only make it better again so thank you for taking the time to swing by and leave your thoughts See you on the flip side of sleep guardians Kp

Edited by theRJP: 9/23/2014 3:50:44 AMUsing a group notification to advertise any updates, reminders or pertinent info could be a good idea. One that we can't respond to, in order to keep it relevant. That way admins can keep everyone informed at once and periodically direct new members to the dad a base and clan pages. Not sure how these work or if it's possible though :)
-
All these people who are looking for groups in the main thread need to just go join a clan. That would solve most of their problems. There are plenty of clans to join. I am in X1 Moon and we have 81 people in there. Or forum is active with about 1/2 the clan and people are awesome about playing with everyone.

Edited by beneaththesoil: 9/23/2014 12:01:32 AMI would like to see the admins of each clan under the alliance run a clan message wall here on bungie.net. This would only involve actual clan members and not group members. It would be like the announcement private messages(DoDcast) we were getting but, with the correct permissions to respond to and even leave the conversation if desired. This would allow members of each clan to "shout out" e.g - weekly strike run, one slot open...., forming Crucible team, who's with me......etc. The admins could be notified if someone is spamming or spoiling and take corrective action when notified. I have no idea how much set-up this would require but, once set up, should manage itself. This is an instant gratification way of communicating with clanmates compared to a forum thread with similar intentions. It could also help tidy up the forums. I am a member in another group where we have this running and it's wonderful. Thanks to you and all the admins for all you do. I am proud to be a DoD, and wouldn't be enjoying this game nearly as much without all of you fellow DoD's.

honestly.. I miss the smaller size of the community. There's just way too many people in here asking the same questions over and over. And there's no way the 10,000+ members we have are ALL fathers..
-
Guys there's some great feedback that can be actioned on in here so thanks! Keep it coming everyone let me hear your thoughts

The clans in Clan Connection need descriptions so the new people can figure out who they should join. This way clan-specific raids/strikes can organize on their own forum rather than the shotgun leaflet approach of asking 11000 people in the main forum.
-
I just want the community as a whole to stop responding to the "i'm a dad so add me" and "LFG for raid/strike right now" posts. If we all just direct them to the dadabase, the dadabase would be 1000x more effective and the forum would be easier to read.
