Block an report then explain to your son that you can't fix stupid but you can ignore it and move on. Sorry thing is that the individual who is harassing your son is probably the same age but not very bright. When I get a random message like that I kill the sender with kindness and tell them I will take that into consideration and thank for the advice. I've been bullied enough throughout my life to find ways to psych the bully out so that they will leave me alone. The best way was to kill them with kindness. This does raise something I was pondering the other day though, why do other players (dude bro's and ignorant individuals) put down, grief, ect new players or individuals who aren't MLG level? It just doesn't make since to me, how do these individuals expect other people to gain experience. I don't think these cruel individuals realize that if it isn't for the casual gamer and new gamer many of the games that these people with nothing better to do besides play PVP all day would not exist. I guess I am just having a "Does not Compute" moment when thinking about the way a small percentage of people act towards new or not highly skilled players. It is this small vocal group that give people who play console and PC games a bad reputation when it comes to the media and the general public.

Not recommended necessarily for your kid but if you continue the conversation with the jerk long enough for him to threaten or start to 4 letter word you, you can report him and then get him kicked off of XBox period. I've received many messages over the years from Halo players who are extremely aggressive and abusive and I've got 99% kicked by goading them on.

Block, leave feedback, don't stress. Your son will get more from how you handle it than some jerk on the internet.

Its a real shame that gaming has sunk so low - firstly just block and report (and maybe also show your son how to do it?) As many have said, your son will gain more from the 'there are good and bad people in the world' conversation that I'm sure you've had to have. I know my 10 year old son did and now knows how to treat Bullies, both online and in school. I tried to preserve and protect his 'childhood' for as long as possible, but with the online presence invading our lives more and more these days, its a conversation that is better done using an event such as this. Also, on an aside, a quick google search for ''ogskywakler' produces a Battlefield 4 player statistics of K/D of 0.68 - so maybe he should stay quiet!!!

Screen shot the message on your phone if you haven't already bud and report. Hope this idiot gets banned. My 8 year old daughter plays sometimes and would of be mortified as you are. Monkey

Hate to hear that. Definitely report them as much as you can. Also use the opportunity to talk to you 9 yo about Bullies and help them understand why ppl bully so he can learn that it wasn't really directed at him personally.

You could report to a bungie mentor or bungie help desriny as a whole is pretty quick to ban players over such things

Give bungie a holler and let them know asap. That's just disgusting.
