For kids around 5/6 years old the best choise it's Wii! Sport games and Mario saga it's a good choise for whole family!

LEGO. Any one of them. And in a couple of years (or less), Rayman.

Definitely the Lego games. My two boys are 6 and 8 now and have been playing lego star wars on the Wii for years. We found the Wii a good choice when ours were younger because of the real movements with the controllers. They could understand what to do easier if they were actually moving. The dance games for the Wii have also been a big hit and are decent exercise.

Minecraft...that game is awesomely fun, and will get their creative juices flowing.
