Sharing is Caring - Heavy Ammo

With a lot of clanmates hitting the Iron Banner this week (some who were previously avoiding the Crucible like the plague), I wanted to make a little Public Service Announcement: When in PvP and Heavy Ammo is available, please don't nab it as quickly as you can. Look around for nearby teammates who might be en route. When your beloved Fireteam huddles around that crate and cracks it open together, EVERYONE nearby reaps the spoils. Think about that: a squad of guardians, armed to the teeth with rocket launchers and machine guns...fully-loaded. The thought of that should be enough to make an opposing team tremble in their Legendary Iron Banner boots. Taking control points and notching kills gets so much easier. When the game announcer say "Heavy Ammo Inbound", I'm dropping everything and heading right for the crate spawn point. Not only do I want the resource for my team, but I also want to do my darnedest to prevent the opponent from getting their filthy hands on it. I invite you to join me. The more you know.

  • Usually when I see that I do everything I can to get to the enemies HA and ground pound them all into oblivion. Love the whining when they get no kills with HA

  • I check the map. If I see nearby teammates heading towards me I'll wait but if they're running all over and/or pass the crate by then I take it. Only exception is if there are enemies nearby; I'll grab it quick to try to prevent them from snaking it.

This is actually one of the few things I'd really like changed. I feel that both Heavy and Special ammo crates should work much like the loot chests and materials in PVE. A player opens it but the crate remains for a short period of time even if the other player(s) are not nearby when it is opened. The only difference would be that the crate only remains available for the team it was opened by. Edit: Possibly a shorter collection time for those who take from an already opened crate.

  • Tho I am happy to hit ib or the crucible with any of you gentlemen i have only done either w ransoms, prob part of my lower k/d or maybe just the fact I love control and getting into the sh@! Who knows... But to the post point, I wait n wait sometimes and others just keep running around then the other team smacks us down hard w rocket salvos. Is a good practice to arm up the whole squad but few hit that gorgeous purple drop like they should...

    • There is only one time in which you should grab the HA by yourself....when you see multiple bleeps hitting your radar heading towards you and your entire team is too far away to get there in time....might as well grab it and die only to allow one member to get a stunted amount of HA rather then the full team filling their filthy pockets with your precious purple gold! Other then that hell ya...same goes for special ammo many times I will be running for special ammo and be too far away for the add drop and my team mate takes it without a second thought.(especially those who are ransoms who refuse to mic or set up teamchat)

    • also please go with a team mate. Often times an opponent will sit there and try to shit on you for attempting to get said heavy ammo. 2 or more against 1 is much better odds for the group getting it

Definitely wish more players realized this. We need a Crucible Etiquette thread lol and include things like explaining spawn flips when you cap all 3 control points
