GUIDE: LV1 to VOG in 2 WEEKS

With the demo to invite Friends available, I want to post a guide to help. Or second character. Complete fresh start - no previous character to build from. Level 1 - 20: Complete the tutorial mission. Do mission 2 on heroic twice. Third mission on heroic should have you at level 4 so go to the tower and get your first bounties. Patrol on earth to get the ones you can do done - explore caves for chests and pick up all spinmetal on the way you see. Do next heroic mission - each 1-2 levels the postmaster should give you another bounty. Do this first - every bit of extra experience early on counts. Continue with heroic missions - postmaster bounties - rinse repeat ect. Level 9 - Run strike on earth twice. (You can do from level 7 but this about levelling efficiency) Continue Heroic missions. Level 12 - you should unlock all 5 bounty slots by now - bounties should refresh and you should do at least 4 + any postmaster tokens. Continue Story on Heroic Difficulty - remembering to keep checking in at tower for any postmaster bounties. (When doing bounties pick up every bit of materials you see) Do Strikes as soon as unlock but only once you at least 1 level above requirement. (Efficient levelling once again) TIP: if you struggle on a heroic difficulty just keep trying to beat it the bonus exp goes along way for the first 12 levels. TIP 2: you might suck at crucible but if you can at least get a bounty or 2 down you will least gain your score as exp plus the bounty exp and crucible rep which I will explain further down can help. ------------------------ Level 20+ : If you follow the previous step you should be level 20 before Mars. Stop the story missions there and start doing you daily mission and Vanguard Strikes. You should get some blue engrams at least to light level you to 22ish to do the first weekly and the higher level vanguard strikes for marks. Once your got 60 marks and enough rep go get your first piece of legendary vanguard gear. (Boots, legs or chest). By this time you should have 1 legendary piece and couple of light level rares. Return to the story and finish it on the highest difficulty you can manage but keep bounties going. (This will help you unlock the level ups on your gear fast) Finish the story and you should be at least 23-25 with lucky strike drops maybe higher. Return to doing strikes and by your second week of 100 vanguard marks you can continue on to level 26, you should be at least ready to look at having someone take you through VOG. TIP 3: if you want to do it in one week and have time, do crucible until you unlock a piece of crucible gear and you can be raid ready in 1 week. 2 legendaries and 2 light level blues can get you to VOG in one week!
