Venus patrol leads to raid and new friends
I feel like I need to share my story from last night because it is part of what makes Destiny so different from anything I've played before.
I was doing my Venus patrol bounty and was passing by the Vault of Glass area. All of a sudden I see four level 30s running to plates and clearly trying to open the door.
I had a kill mission so I figured I would help them out while finishing the patrol.
Equipped my Atheon's Epilogue and Gjallahorn, went to middle and started taking out Praetorians and Hobgoblins.
4 minutes later it's open and the guys wave then hop on their sparrows to venture on.
I watch them from the steps and wonder what to do next...then the game invite comes. They invited me to join them!
1 hour later we've beaten the Vault of Glass on normal, I have a new friend in Australia and they asked me to bring along my level 24 friend for the fun of dragging a low level through. My friend finally got Hezen Venegeance out of it too!
Big shout out to the clan ROBO that invited me after I helped them. Super cool and friendly guys.
I don't have another game where this is even remotely possible.

1 ReplySame exact thing happened yesterday. Doing a daily heroic, four guys opening the VOG. I started helping out and they sent the invite. This was my first VOG raid and we beat it in an hour. 2 new friends that raid often, exactly what I needed! This is why I love this game.

Great times! Similar thing happened to me once. I was just doing a bounty and I happen to be there at the right time. They were short one. I started helping and noticed they shifted I guy away from my side. The guy I was left with looked AFK. He was inviting me. It was a lot of fun and everyone I have as friends are great guys. No gf's yet.

That is the best thing i heard, it happend too, it started out in me helping with a raid and before i knew it i ended up with eight new adds to my friend list and we play together now.

2 RepliesThat's what is so great about this game. I got a random invite the other day to my level 5 Titan. Two guys were playing the story mission I happen to be on. The one just got the game and his friend was playing with his alt. I had a blast playing with them. It was also fun to say hey do you know there's a gold cheat down there and to hear their reactions.

Had something similar happen to me. Was running story missions trying to level my 2nd Titan to lvl 20 and ran into a random Hunter doing the same thing. Was about to continue on when I noticed he froze for a moment to stare at me....so i figured what the heck another guy at lvl 11 just like me so why not send an invite and a sec later got an invite to join his game. Ended up being a dad who never heard of DoD. Got one of his destiny buddies at level 29 bring us through most of the story to level us up quicker. So hopefully we have have a new member. Pretty cool guys. Thanks for the help XGC Doxequisguy and SiegFried676
