Why play Iron Banner this time?
The last Iron Banner provided gear that could get you to the then maximum level in the game - 30.
It meant that even players who had not completed the Vault of Glass multiple times and gotten the right gear to drop could still hit that special number.
This time the max is 32 but Iron Banner gear can only get you to 31...and you can get similar gear through Crucible, Vanguard and factions to get to 31.
So does Iron Banner even make sense this time around?
I say [b]yes[/b]
1) The gear could have strength, intellect or discipline attributes that suit your play style
2) If you play any Crucible then you might as well get more bounties and have the gear you've been levelling up actually matter
3) It was tons of fun last time around
I have a new Hunter 3rd character designed for Crucible that is currently 11. I might as well let someone bring him to Iron Banner until he is 20 later this week since I can double up on Crucible bounties and rank up faster plus get gear that gets him to 31 playing Crucible which it was for anyway.

1 Reply#1 reason to play it? The sniper rifle! There's only two other rifles in the very high impact catagory: the black hammer (from crota raid), & the one from playing the Trials of Osiris. I would strongly recommend everyone reach rank 4 & purchase this beast!!

I'm gonna use it to level up my Titan so I can get him into and through the raids. And a little PvP action will be a nice break from the grind.

I have to finish my Bad Juju bounty... Otherwise... I don't really PvP much.

Only going to run through it to get Efrideets spear since I havent been able to grab Ice Breaker yet. If you got to lvl 4 or 5 last time, as MrHappy already mentioned, just a distraction from Eris and the raid...

It was tons of fun, and the rewards were worth it at the time. I find them [i]not at a[/i]ll compelling for IB 3.0, unfortunately; I have other things to do that will boost me further. Bit of a bummer, as I was really looking forward to it!

2 RepliesIB came out too soon after DLC and Xur trade ups. My glimmer is consumed and working on ranking up Eris rank levels takes more priority right now. IB is just a distraction. I need to get to Eris rank 4 to be able to convert radiant energies to shards. IB is the last thing on my list. I did have fun last time and got to rank 5 and bought everything. Maybe in Jan.

Yeah I will probably still play it just on the fence about how much...I really like my wolf emblem sleeves but I've been investing time in upgrading my new vanguard gear which gets me to the same level... so not real keen on starting that progression over...I was really hoping they would give out gear to get you to 32 or maybe give out chest plates and helmets instead...alas it is not so. Also they could have added some elemental damage to that AR to make you really push for it. I did have a blast last time though and have a bad juju bounty to complete so I'll be in there...just won't be pushing as hard as I did last time around.

3 RepliesHow is the Iron Banner more fun than regular PvP? The only PvP I can stand right now is Control, since most of the time I'm a major contributor to the numerator in your k/d ratio.
