VoG mishaps and my new fireteam requirements
So in an effort just get in a couple VoG runs, I've tried DestinyLFG for both a hard and normal run the past two nights. Big mistake. No coordination and couldn't finish either run. Stuck at Templar on hard and at Atheon on normal. Ugh. New requirement is at least 3 DoDers from now on. I've never had a problem (and always have fun) when I'm with my fellow dads.

2 RepliesLike most things in destiny (including the forums) I do not participate with the general population...I am perfectly happy in the quiet corner DoD sits...lol..the last time I dealt with general pop was when they first added "fireteam chat" to strikes....listened to 2 kids call each other douche nozzles and fags for the entire strike.....ahhh development money well spent!....chat is always off now...thank god for DoD

22,000 DoDs. I would up that requirement to 5 just to be safe.

3 RepliesMaturity, understanding, forgiveness, and mostly, a good time because we all know what responsibility means, what our priorities are, and that sometimes older folks just screw up with the relic and fall off the ledge !!! :) I've got a good group of 15 or 16 new DoD Destiny friends and am always happy to play with them!

I have to totally agree as well! I don't know what is it with these kids always trash talking each other with so much venom. It makes me sad for the next generation!

I dislike playing with other clans. Every time I hook up with lfg-ers its an unpleasant experience. From unnecessary foul language to outright immaturity. I enjoy my gaming sessions with DoD!

After a few times doing parts of both raids I feel the same. The last time I did the VoG it was with a group of young guys and I decided that was the last time I do a raid with mostly non-parents. The group you raid with makes a big difference between enjoying or hating it.

1 ReplyGreat stories, and I totally agree. For me, playing with fellow DoD'ers means that people understand when I say I have to go because my 7 month old needs me. Doesn't matter if its during crota or helium farming - I gotta go if I gotta go. No one here has ever had an issue with that, as I think that we can all understand and support each other.

You add enough DODS and you'll never look back. There's always someone on to lend a helping hand.

First time i was invited to the vault, it was with 5 randoms. I was like... "I'm finished with my bounties for the day. not much else to do. What the hay, this should be fun to try out the vault." The person who invited me had the templar checkpoint and no one knew what to do. No one was even giving advice or suggestions on what to do. It was literally 6 people thrown into the templar battle who had never done it. We were all just shooting everything that came out. The group quickly disbanded after 3 horribly failed attempts. Probably good that it ended so fast.

1 ReplyI am adopting this theory. Ran normal earlier this week. Grogon maze was very frustrating as people ran where ever. After I was the only one to make it for the first 3 straight runs I asked group to follow me. Still half the group decided to do their own thing. Took 4 more tries and before they decided to follow me.

I remember a clanmate invited me to raid with him and his one friend and I think 3 randoms. We did the Atheon fight and it was a mess; no one other than me or the clanmate would call out left/right (or Venus/Mars or whatever you prefer), so if one of us didn't teleport than we didn't know which portal to open. I hung around in there a lot longer than I should have because I didn't want to bail on him, but it was a big waste of time and I knew it. Whenever people complain about not being able to raid because of no matchmaking, I think "Wait until you try it with 5 random guys". At the same time I don't see an issue with adding matchmaking to the Weekly and Nightfall...that might require a bit of teamwork but not nearly at the same level of coordination. Basically "I am dead, come revive me, thanks."
