Crucible and gear
So since the crucible is made even do you need your best gear? Other then the perks from it does it do anything

All the upgrades to the gear do count, so does your class abilities. I can't confirm this, but my experience tell me that the more I upgraded gear and skills, the harder it got to kill me and the better damage I do. I think the "Damage" of weapons is what is one of the things that is, supposedly, evened between all levels.
