I trashed the Husk of the Pit.
So two days ago a did my normal after bounty purge of Items I can't use. One of those items was a level 10 common auto rifle called the "Husk of the Pit". Hell I did not know what it was so I trashed it. A few hours later I see a YouTube video for the Husk of the Pit and how to upgrade it to an exotic auto rifle. I could have kicked myself.
I spent several HOURS that day actively trying to get it back and just gave up hoping to get it in another drop. I got it back today just working off a bounty. (Side note: that's the same way I got it the first time, doing the bounty's on the Earth and the Moon that require you to get the Sword 3 times.)
I started working up the auto rifle today and it sucks fighting with a level 10 weapon.

Saw this on reddit, did it, and I'll try my best to get the details right. Do the Crota mission, maybe called the wakening (maybe?) I think it's the one where you are supposed to kill Crotas soul. eventually you get to a room with a bunch of cursed thralls and a shrieker. Kill the explorers, and kill the shrieker. Six more cursed thralls should spawn and come toward you through the door you are supposed to go through. As long as you're on the floor , they bunch up and walk slowly through the door toward you (I stood at the left of the rock on the floor). Blow one up, they should all blow up, and I believe you get credit for 6 kills. According to gunslingers trance countdown, it takes 6-7 seconds for another pack to come in the room after the previous pack is blown up. Had my husk fed in under a half hour ( I had a little bit going before I went in so can't give an exact time zero to filled) They won't drop any engrams, but you'll never have to worry about ammo

If you do the first mission on the moon where you open the big doors and all the hive start to run at you. Use your husk to kill everything except the knight once you kill everything let the knight kill you. You will respawn with the doors opening and everything rushing at you... Everything that rush at you are hive characters so you rank up the level 10 husk very very quickly... Hope that helps

2 RepliesIt is not apparent but husk of the pit only gets exp from killing hive Go to the first moon mission on easy and fight till you get to the "we've woken the hive" bit. Kill as many hive as you can quickly. Die. Repeat. It takes something like 400 kills to upgrade to eidolon ally.

You only get it from the sword carriers on moon or earth.

I want to like it but the damage is sooo low you have land near a half to full clip on head shots to down anything. My scout rifle is 1 headshot 2-3 body shots. The damage needs improved IMHO. To upgrade husk I just ran through the hive underground on the moon a few times. Mobs are lv10

I'd give you mine if I could. The hive style dlc weapons don't do anything for me.

2 RepliesI killed 350+ BOC and I pick the bounty up whenever it is available and I have yet to get one, I've tried everything, running the Fist of Crota mission, killing them on Patrols and even doing it during story missions.

I have since upgraded it to the legendary Eidolon Ally. Just the other day doing missions on earth got a 2nd Husk of the Pit. Wish I could trade it to someone. Thinking of making a new character and using to level with after level 10. Lol

Go to cosmedrome patrol, when you spawn go into the building to your left. Kill the 3 majors there and walk to the end of the subway and back, they should respawn. If not, go back outside and kill the spawns there.took me about 40 minutes and it's a great way to farm glimmer and black idols

I did the same. Haven't gotten one since but I love my vex too much anyway

I use it for my new characters that I am bringing up. It works great for low level toons!

I almost trashed mine when I got it too. It just ssemed bizarre to get a L10 common weapon so I paused and did some quick research.

I have mine upgraded as far as it will go, now i need a crux of crota. I use it on patrol sometimes, it does ok.

I did the same thing about 2 weeks ago...then almost shat myself when i realized what i did.. luckly i got another one the very next day.. yeah its garbage right now just sitting in my vault till i hit level 3 with eris..

It really does suck using it. It does next to no damage and needs a reload way too quickly.

It only levels up by killing Hive. Just FYI.
