7th federation Army group "Volga group"

The federation military is composed of forces from different planets, sectors, and with varied levels of technology. In response different army groups were created alongside corresponding navies based on tech level. The seventh army group (and naval fleet) come from the Volga sector, settled by the Russians early in their colonial age. Specializing in armored warfare, artillery, and mechanized warfare they are the federation's shock troops. They consist of three tiers of troops, the conscripts, the volunteers, and the guards divisions. Military service is two year compulsory, most serve that and more as volunteers. Guards divisions are elite units of career soldiers with the best equipment.
