Secrets of the Tricorn.

I found this quite interesting over my morning cup of tea. His enthusiasm for his theory compels me more than anything. Copied from VG 24/7 Destiny’s lore is currently largely a mystery, but one fan has taken an intense look at Bungie’s designs and come up with an interesting theory. Destiny makes repeated use of moon iconography in the form of the Traveller, the huge, dormant AI that hangs in the sky. The moon is also the source of the Hive, apparently, and as one of the four locations in the first game, we know we’ll be spending a lot of time there. But YouTuber Killworthy Gaming thinks there’s more to it than that. In a new video called Secrets of the Tricorn, he unpacks a variety of visual design elements, in-game themes and miscellaneous Bungie ephemera to uncover what he believes to be a running theme: wolves. Now, there are plenty of wolves to be found with even a cursory glance at Destiny – many of the best pieces of equipment have wolves on them, and the second expansion will be called House of Wolves. But according to Killworthy Gaming, the Destiny tricorn itself is a wolf face.

Long live the pack! Hoorah!!! I like to run alone, with the sun in my eyes and the wind in my ears, honing my skills against unsurmountable odds. So that when I once more join my brethren, we form an unbreakable chain, an irresistible force, an unmovable object, non shall stand in our path! Glory to the pack!

    • Great research, and well done deduction. I can't wait to see what else we're going to find in the game.

NOW this is the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky, And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk, the law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack. Wash daily from nose tip to tail tip; drink deeply, but never too deep; And remember the night is for hunting and forget not the day is for sleep. The jackal may follow the tiger, but, cub, when thy whiskers are grown, Remember the wolf is a hunter—go forth and get food of thy own. Keep peace with the lords of the jungle, the tiger, the panther, the bear; And trouble not Hathi the Silent, and mock not the boar in his lair. When pack meets with pack in the jungle, and neither will go from the trail, Lie down till the leaders have spoken; it may be fair words shall prevail. When ye fight with a wolf of the pack ye must fight him alone and afar, Lest others take part in the quarrel and the pack is diminished by war. Rudyard Kipling.
