So... how do there here clans work?

Hi all, haven't got my head around how the clans actually work, and how it means I get to fight alongside clan members? Any of you fine EG'rs want to clue me in? Cheers in advance! M (Markypants on EG) PS- I have little to no PSN friends playing this so please help a brother out and add me... I need fwwwwwends. ;-)

    The clan integration is another thing that has been weirdly disconnected from the main game for some reason. Bungie (Activision) reaaalllly wanted to push this app, I guess.
