The favorite way for me to play any game is with a static group, where the characters are locked together in progress... this is done as a shared desire for shared progress, not as a method to prevent playing. If you like static groups, you get it; if not, then please proceed to play how you like and enjoy yourself.
For Destiny, I would love to start at level 1 with two other people who can game together on a regular basis (at least once weekly for a decent chunk of time). We would knock out all the story content and strikes as we level through them. Once at elder game, we could do the heroic strikes, etc. Raiding could be considered, but goes beyond this and we can discuss it when appropriate.
My perfect group scenario would be the following. I'm not insisting anything here needs to match 100%; I'm just putting it out there, and we can work out anything we might disagree with and come to a mutual understanding of how things should go. In other words, this is all the stuff that would make me giddy, but I'd rather concede a few issues and have a great group of friends to level with:
1. My IDEAL time frame 9am PST to 5pm PST Sundays (I break for dinner then, more after is even better). I also play a lot in the evenings during the week; every other Saturday I have a tabletop group, so those days would be out. I would never be able to reliably play on Monday or Wednesday evenings. Outside of my Sat/Mon/Wed restrictions, the organized time is very open to other players' needs.
2. Ideally would have one of each class; subclass would be entirely up to the individual, and changing to meet your own enjoyment and/or overall ability of the group would be entirely up to you also. I would probably prefer Titan, but I'd be down for any of the three.
3. Start at level 1. If everything else were to happen, but the other 2 people wanted to start at 25 with the Taken King bump, then I'd concede this, but I really enjoy leveling through all of it.
4. We only play those characters together, and don't play them out of group. If you like static groups, you understand why. There's other characters to play on off-group time. This is meant to be a shared team experience and that in and of itself is part of the enjoyment of this play style.
5. No teabaggers/epeeners. If you're enjoyment of the game is to feel better than others on a personal level and you feel like trashing, bullying, or generally antisocial behavior is the way to get there, we're not going to enjoy spending time together. Also, no drama. If you feel the need for drama, constant attention, a platform to boast, please look elsewhere. Being friendly is great, but let's leave it there.
6. Reliability is a must... real life comes before gaming, but aside from pressing/urgent matters, if we're all agreeing to meet at a certain time and one of us is unreliable in that, always late, constantly afks, it's disruptive and a waste of all of our real times. If you have an interest in this, please only express that if you're able to commit that time to the group. Things WILL come up, but if we can mitigate that beforehand, it's less of a disruption and we'll enjoy each others' company more.
7. Have a mic/headset/voice capability. Being able to communicate in real time is extremely helpful for succeeding at challenges presented in real time. Also, if we're going to be playing together often, being sociable is beneficial. Don't be a voice hog though ;)
If you have any other questions or suggestions, please let me know. I honestly don't know what to expect from interest, but if there's more than enough interest and there's more than two other people interested, I'll do everything I can to help setup other groups to help others out.
Thanks!

This sounds right up my alley, honestly. I'm down for everything you just said. My only concern is that you're on PST. I'm on GMT +8 which is the other side of the world. So your standard playtime of 9am - 5pm on Sundays is 12am - 9am on Mondays for me. Which is difficult since I have work. I can usually play until about 4am though on every other workday, and I can play nights on my Saturdays or mornings on my Sundays if you're free. If you're willing to talk about working around time-zone issues, I think I'd love to join your group. It sounds like exactly the kind of arrangement I've been looking for. :)
