So far I've seen nobody actually willing to help players who haven't done a raid, all demanding "experience and 300+ light or kicked" So how are we supposed to learn and get to 300 light? This subreddit only caters for 5% of the destiny playerbase where as the rest of us are stuck doing strikes because nobody has the ability to help apparently
Just my experience with destiny and it's community

This is what I notice. People expect to much. I went to destinylfg.com the first week raid dropped and noticed. You must have 300 light. A week after must have 300 light and Tom. I beat the raid at 290+ light with no Tom. People set these boundaries where it is damn near impossible for new players to experience content. If you ever need help with the raid let me know. I never mind helping new people as long as there is a will to learn. We all have to start somewhere. When I use to play wow it was a great experience watching new players learn and becoming awesome raiders and I built a lot of friendships on just giving people a chance. If you need help I don't mind coming along to assist. Granted I might not know all the mechanics but who knows we might all learn something together.

I DO have to say though... I dont have much tolerance for people under 290 light and/or a sniper rifle under 290... those are my minimum requirements for running anyone who wants to learn the raid.. and ffs that is REASONABLE requirements... it is EASY to get over 290 light.. and if you are trying to run the raid under even what the GAME is saying is minimum recommended light... im sorry but you are kidding yourself... time is an issue in the raid fights and if the team cant perform.. then you will not proceed.. simple as that

Edited by Kitz919: 10/17/2015 9:01:34 PMAnyone who hasn't done the King's Fall yet feel free to add me! I run the raid on 3 characters now and have 3 friends that I raid with and we'd be willing to help new people out.

Ill help... I actually like to help people learn the raid... so long as im not working or not actively playing the raid TO FINISH (where i will ask for 300+ light... just so i can get it done in <2 hours on 3 characters) Otherwise Ive run the raid many times where I will get no loot... play it for fun just to teach people

Actually, I met people last night that helped me, a newbie light level 283 Warlock, with the King's Fall Raid. Not only was that my first time playing King's Fall, but also my first time doing a raid! One guy led 5 noobs. When he had to go, we found another Sherpa to lead us. We got up to Oryx and stopped because everybody had to go and was tired (this was at 12:00 am midnight) So yeah, there are people out there willing to help out fresh meats. You just gotta reach out to them. Once I get the hang of things in Destiny, I'll try to help out others too.

Sadly I find this true. Just got the game again last week and found that i had to grind all the little strikes because a kid thought i was cancer in a raid.
