I wanna upgrade the 32in 1080p 60hz insignia that I currently have to a larger TV I was thinking of a RCA 55in 1080p 120hz model#LED55C55R120Q $570.00 at Best Buy but heard that there is some intense input lag on this model. My price range is around $500.00. Any suggestions?

Edited by Passizle: 8/12/2014 12:36:27 AMHave you checked out Display lag website. They have a ton of good data and you can sort by piece as well. I am in the market myself. My budget is a bit bigger, but I am looking for something that will do cinema well too. The Samsung pn60f8500 was recommended, but it's expensive. There is a lag fix as well by renaming the input the console uses, to "PC". link Edit: sort by price is not there. But sort by everything else is. Sorry about that.

Edited by SmellyButtocks: 8/12/2014 12:29:47 AMYou could probably pick up a decent projector for that kinda price. If you have the room why not go up to about 100inch? Just for fun.
The cost to have it mounted, and a decent screen would probably up the price. But why the hell not?
Edit: Didn't read the part about input lag, no idea if that would be an issue.

Save another $330 and get a Vizio 50" M-series. 3D, smart TV, 1080p LED, 240 Hz, comes with 8 pairs of glasses. One of my best purchases ever.
-
For 500 I would get a 46" Samsung 7 series or above

Edited by sergeantawesome: 8/11/2014 11:57:22 PMLook into reviews on TVs. TVs have latency which effects gaming, and yes, even in game mode. http://www.cnet.com/news/game-mode-on-cnet-tests-tvs-for-input-lag/ I have a 65" Panasonic Viera. I have done everything I can to get input lag down, but there is only so much you can do.

Don't forget to price check on Amazon.

Get a benq or Asus monitor for gaming

This is the TV I have: http://www.amazon.com/TCL-LE40FHDE3010-40-Inch-1080p-Black/dp/B00BP5N498/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407800600&sr=8-1&keywords=TCL The 50" sounds like what you're looking for. Great price and no issues with mine so far (bout 5 months). Don't get thrown because you don't know the brand. Some of my friends also have TCL TVs and they work great for them.

I've got a 48" vizio smart tv with 120 hz refresh rate and 3 HDMI inputs for multiple consoles or devices. I love it honestly and its around 500 maybe more with taxes.

I'm getting mine here. http://www.asus.com/microsite/2013/lcd/GamingMonitors/fast.htm

Edited by AristonSparta: 8/11/2014 9:54:58 PMMy fiancé and I just picked up a 48 inch 1080p led insignia for around $440 from Best Buy. It's really pretty. Anything would improve your experience I believe.

No get Destiny! Wait...

I play on an HD monitor so I wouldn't know

Depends Sony for long lasting Sharp for simplicity Samsung curve for sweet gaming Vizio for price and quality
-
I only ever buy Samsung or Sony televisions. I wouldn't recommend a RCA television. Instead you could find a nice 40-46 inch 1080p television for around $500.
-
Set tv to game mode. No input lag. I have a 60 inch lg that I got 2 years ago for $1200. I have never had a problem with it. The exact tv I have is at hh Greg rite now for $499.99
-
I'd go with anything Vizio or LG. I own a 54 Vizio and a 58 lg and love both of them.
-
Ew, all the people mentioning LG as if it's a good choice. I would just save up more money and buy something better.
-
LG 50inch 1080p 120ghz it's under 500$ and it works great. I think it's at best buy but I got it at Wal-Mart.
-
Vizio M series don't go near RCA it's junk Vizio is cheap and affordable if M is to pricey the E series is good too.
-
Dude get a vizio. They're literally amazing for the price. Or like a Samsung /Panasonic plasma. Can find them on the cheap and they kick ass
-
Personally I own a 24 inch asus monitor. I live it. Generally the larger you go the more input lag your getting.

Look up different models gaming recomendations. I have a 55" 1080p insignia 240hz (but its not called hz past 120 anymore it was something else but it basically means the same thing) and they are horrible with the input lag. Im currently doing a mass effect trilogy run through to kill time and on my 55" when you have to do the hacking simin says type game it was impossible to complete. I knew I never had a problem witb that particular mini game before so I looked online and found it was a real problem on some hd tv's. I went and unpacked my 47" LG 1080p 120hz tv and it was like night and day. The responsiveness and my aim is so much better. Im considering leaving the LG as my only gaming tv since its almost like compairing ps1 to ps4 graphics only on a control comparison. I did try game mode and playing around with in game as well as tv settings and nothing really worked, when I was looking into the problem it seems its a fairly well known issue with hdtv and there arr lots of resources available to find which brands and models are the best.

RCA and Samsung have had the best picture quality and have been the most reliable for me. Vizio has nice picture but are made in Mexico which is prolly why mine broke in the first month and I took it apart to find a band-aid holding wires together inside :/
