Forgive my ignorance, but I just came across this and don't know what to make of it just yet. I could see gamers using it in Destiny Crucible.
What do you guys think? Would you buy the Hipshotdot? Apparently they sell is at Gamestop.

Did some research and this thing is $30 on Amazon. Im not paying for that shit if you could easily just make it, and I'm sure most other players won't either. I've got better things to spend my money on.
-
It's not cheating because there are no such rules against such devices. It's merely a tool. However, in my opinion, it's hilarious. It's not hard to mentally see where the center of your screen is. Only terrible people and exploiters would use such a thing.
-
It's 100% cheating because it is not a standard method that is already utilized in the game itself thus giving people who purchase it an unfair advantage.
-
Haha I did this when I was younger. Except I just cut a dot out of a sticky note
-
I'm between "It's not cheating, just pathetic" and "It's just a gimmick to try and sell to people who are dumb." Who would waste money one of those things when you can make one?
-
My first question, do people really suck that bad? I mean to the point were you have to buy some cheap ass rig just to hit people? Pathetic.
-
Not really cheating but it's an insult to gamers that work hard to get good.
-
If you need a red dot, to let you know where the center of the screen is/hip fire. Then by all means, go for it. You need the help.
-
Well I can't view the video so what exactly are they using that could be considered cheating.
-
If you're unaware of where the centre of your screen is, you're one of the few retards that need this to begin with. It's not cheating, and I never even thought of adding something there because it would just annoy me. Hip fire is normally less accurate to begin with, so the centre dot means nearly nothing. I've been gaming nearly all my life and if you need something like that to tell you where the centre of your screen is. That's a sad day in human evolution let alone gaming.
-
I was kinda leaning more towards "not cheating, just sad" until it got to the part about "...and you can get hit with an EMP and still have your dot..." and then it really hit me how this is a stupid cheating device that breaks part of how the game was designed.
-
People have been doing this for while, but a full blown accessory? That's lame as -blam!-. Although I don't like it ill give the creators credit for being smart enough to sell it
-
W00T 360NoScopes4Days!!!
-
It doesnt help. The hipfire crosshairs are there for a reason. That indecates bullets fired from the hip of that much of a bullet variation. Bullets will not travel directly in the middle of the crosshairs. Its just a gimmick to try and sell to people who are dumb.
-
You can use whatever you want to get MLG ready. Just don't be shocked when people laugh at money poorly spent I suppose.
-
Edited by Sean: 8/9/2014 2:57:47 AMIt's not cheating, just pathetic. How bad could these people be that they need to mark their screen? It's a video game, not rocket science. So, neither poll options are applicable since it is neither cheating or strategic.
-
Ehh it's not cheating but I mean it's a little much don't ya think
-
Anything that modifies the game other than something in the game including buying crap instead of earning it I consider cheating.
-
In my opinion, it's strategic when you use or exploit something inside of the game to get an advantage. It's cheating when you use or exploit something that's either outside of the game or that was manually placed in the game for an advantage. By that standard, this is most definitely cheating.
-
I don't use garbage like this. Besides, you'd only look like a dumbass at an IRL event where people watch you and suddenly you go up to the TV and put up a red dot lol.
-
It is only 'cheating' if you get caught... Never bring a knife to a gun fight...
-
I've been playing games for 20yrs and playing shooters almost as long. Never needed anything like that to play so whatever.
-
I see a lot of mixed comments but the poll states something a little more obvious. Yes I would consider this cheating. As people have stated it is an old trick, but never the less it's the same as using a moded controller or a moded console. It's meant for people who aren't very good players to bring them up to a 1:1 par. But they get abused obsessively. Just practice and eventually you'll look back and realize you can do what they are doing without one of those dots on your screen.
-
I don't know what to say in terms of whether its cheating or not. But doesn't it take away from the fun of the game? Instead of estimating your shot, just line up the red dot and you're done.
-
My friend just used a piece of clear tape and a sharpie to do this
-
This is cheating but how don't see how this works in Destiny. The guns are pretty accurate and the bullets don't fire all over the place like in call of duty games
