Forgive my ignorance, but I just came across this and don't know what to make of it just yet. I could see gamers using it in Destiny Crucible.
What do you guys think? Would you buy the Hipshotdot? Apparently they sell is at Gamestop.

Great. Now this is going to change FFPs so there's a dot-reticle active at all times in the center of the screen to ensure equal access.
-
If you need a dot to tell you where the middle of the screen is you're a dumbass.
-
All I got from the video was "Please buy our shit."
-
i don't know about you guys but i already know where my hip fire shoots.... IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SCREEN? why do you need a dot? i just know where it is... and the line down the middle of the screen would PISS ME OFF no end lol... no thanks... keep your RDS
-
My brother's done something like that before...
-
Technically, no. It's like saying upgrading your gun accuracy is cheating. I wouldn't know, because I hipfire all the time.
-
I seriously bought one of these off Amazon as soon as I finished reading your post. I hope it does piss people off. Also there's a product called crunus max that lets you use ps4 controllers on xb1 and vice versa, and have things like auto fire and macro functions enabled. If you use that with a Scuf modded controller you would have: A permanent red do in the center of your screen, modded short pull triggrs, 4 extra buttons for your middle and ring fingers to push, convex (instead of concave) thumb sticks, rapid fire on your triggers, and an advanced string of button presses assigned to a single button. Is that cheating? Even if you think it is, there isn't anything you can do about it except get better, mimmic it, or bitch.
-
There's a built in crosshair when you're not ADS
-
This is why it is important that the developers make it so hip fire is not accurate. Even if you have the dot, it may help a little, but the bullet should fire in a much larger radius from the hip. Not cheating if developers program the game rightly.
-
nulifies equipment people use in video games and "gives you the advantage over other players" yup id say cheating. tho i dont understand how people are so desperate to get kills? I use to admire players that were actually good, now i dont even know if i should just question them
-
This has been around forever. It is even a feature on my pro gaming monitor to turn on 4 different reticles that stay dead center. It's cheese, and you give up on it. Hip fire situations are the only advantage. Much worse out there than that
-
The whole point of playing competitive games is to prove that your inherent skill is better than the next gamer's....so I've never understood why people glean any sort of enjoyment from cheating to increase your k/d. You know that you aren't good enough to compete without the help, you're just a poser. That includes this artificial red dot that other gamers that you play against don't have.
-
It is absolutely cheating, but I say let whoever wants to buy this crutch use it. If you are a better gamer, you mostly don't shoot from the hip and will still own the tool who actually buys this. A stupid mark fixed to your tv doesn't make your aim better. This is the same principal the civilian gun market is based off of. If you can't shoot - it doesn't matter how expensive your gun or optics are! You're still going to miss.
-
Just another crutch for bad gamers. The people who use these, modded controllers, hacks, etc. are the very same people who talk shit, call other people garbage in game, 1v1 me bro, etc. I personally wouldn't feel good about my progress or stats knowing they were aided by gimmicks and not actually earned though my game skill.

This type of shit makes me not wanna play video games. What's the -blam!-ing point when you're not even on equal playing go under with the other players? I recently started playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 while waiting for Destiny, and I enjoy using things like smoke and concussion grenades, or flashbang. There's been so many times I threw one of these right in someone's face and I can see their character even reacting to it, but they'll still shoot me in the face as if unfazed. Now seeing crap like this out there I don't even wanna play.
-
Who the -blam!- are they to quote the Marines. LoL did you see the gaming "tournament" players what casuals.
-
It's cheating but it's so hard to stop, even if you banned the sale, they would still have ways to make cheap DIY versions.
-
Agree with your friend palindrome.
-
That's just pathetic. It says a lot that the YouTube video won't accept ratings or comments.
-
What will the jews think of next
-
Yes it's cheating, you would never be able to use that at a competitive lan tournament.

Edited by Godchild: 8/15/2014 10:13:02 AMI used a small piece of tape on my computer screen years ago in counter strike source to help with quick scoping my sniper rifle. Eventually you don't need the dot at all. Some might say it was a clutch but to me it was a good way to learn how to quick scope in games and actually helped me a lot in other fps type games since then with overall performance. The fact they have to buy this is a scam more then anything. So no its not cheating, you should pity anyone that buys it though.
-
Come in handy during LASO challenges. I remember everyone handing out advice all over these forums like taping a dot or just using the tape itself to the center of the tv when Reach had a LASO weekly. Not much difference.
-
What the *Blaming hell! Did I just watch. It's official GameStop must be purged.
-
It's not cheating it's an unfair advantage, if a players good enough they shouldn't need it. Seems like a stupid waste of money though.
