Forgive my ignorance, but I just came across this and don't know what to make of it just yet. I could see gamers using it in Destiny Crucible.
What do you guys think? Would you buy the Hipshotdot? Apparently they sell is at Gamestop.

It's not cheating it's an unfair advantage, if a players good enough they shouldn't need it. Seems like a stupid waste of money though.
-
Seen it for people who cant play and say they do not a end all cheat but is another crappy tool. between devices like this boting and mod'd controlers i dont pvp much.
-
I had a friend who marked the middle of the screen with a red edding...what a freak! xD I personally think that I don't need that but I ask myself if it would work better with Destiny than with CoD, could be a remarkable advantage!
-
There's a fine line between being competitive and taking a game way too seriously. This basically decided to make that line a cross.
-
I wouldn't buy anything to enhance my skills. You must be blind to be using one of these. Noobs who come in and think they run it are the ones who buy this. Guys who are good but want to be better than everyone else will buy these. Its horrible. Accuracy is important , it really is. These things could be added to the modded world. Its just pathetic. Your skill lies within. Use it and if you cant find it , try harder.

Edited by Hot Juicy Pie: 8/12/2014 7:19:35 AMI was gonna say people have been doing this with a marker on the screen for years, but the video covered that. Most devs have gotten wise to this though and made hip firing inconsistent. In gears of war hip firing with the gnasher never hit the same area consistently. Technically though since it does utilize power from the console, this could be considered an unlicensed third party peripheral, which they can ban you for using. But good look ever proving that someone used it.

I think its a tool, If it helps you fine but I dont think it will matter much...
-
This crap is the bi product of crappy gamers who won't take the time to get skill rather just be the best straight out the gates. I played BF4 and straight up sucked my first bc it was a different feel than cod. I kept at it bc I wanted to be good and be4 Ik it. I go 27 and 6 easy . All it takes is patience and maturity something a lot of gamers lack these days. I ain't calling anybody out by all means I'm just saying this is the start of a very bad trend in gaming

It's like scuffs it's technically not cheating but u know that they arnt as good without them they are for people who arnt to good....
i still think that mlg should ban scuffs
My god people want nerfs for guns and stuff, saying its to accurate or some sort, and then some just smuggle red dots either ways. Those bastards. I'd like to be able to meet people by walking up to them and saying hey. Not fiddling with teams and friends lists and chat boxes, etc. I'd like to share laughter or thanks with strangers in the moment, not after the fact. It would be pretty easy to just turn this setting off if you're not interested, or mute specific people if they're being obnoxious. What do you think? Share your idea's here and in a bunch of other threads so it spreads like wildfire and bungie does something about it before launch! (ik this is off topic but this needs to be heard)
-
This is absolutely cheating by all standards. I cannot believe that by all standards that the MLG community would allow this to happen. I hope a government would watch this video and make it illegal to sell the red dots as a result. This is going to be out of control and I hope someone does something about it. Why do so many games go so far from the era of "skill" to the era of "let me use everything possible damning the consequences to get my k/d as high as possible"?
-
Its Not cheating in my opinion! For ME it would be pathetic and boring!! There were so many situations in halo games and in the destiny beta were i no-scoped people with my snipe and everytime my Brain was like "BÄÄMM you sucker" With hipshot it would be like "......."
-
Pathetic more than anything ha!
-
Having been playing Black Ops 2 earlier, I find it remarkable that someone would purchase something for x amount of dollars, that I can do with my mind and eye coordination. It may make that first or second bullet, even third, more accurate, but you are still spraying and praying if firing from the hip, especially if you are firing full auto. Also, since it physically takes up space on your screen, it can, and may, in those rares cases where the enemy inches into position to fire, block the enemy, particularly if there is only one part of the body visible when they do that.
-
Would it be possible to mark the center using the sniper crosshairs in either halo or destiny? I think its just a crutch to be honest.
-
Edited by Mad King Mack: 8/11/2014 6:56:58 AM"It's not cheating, just pathetic." That's the perfect response. Since you're not tampering with the game in any way, then technically it is not cheating. It is however pretty pathetic. It doesn't make you better, it makes the game easier. I also think it's hilarious that people care enough to actually spend money on this ridiculous thing. Hodor. EDIT: You need to change the poll as well. I don't think it is cheating, nor do I think it's strategic. Hodor.
-
In my opinion its cheating but not ingame ofcourse. If you really are that obsessed with K/D ratio you really schould get a life. In a tournament one would really have a disadvantage because one is used to it.
-
This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen, if you have a gun with god awful accuracy, M60 from any CoD, Shot guns From Halo, It is not cheating as much it is a crutch. In the end it is the gun you know, the gun you favor, the gun you practice with that gets the kill. I don't watch the dot, or the ridicule, I watch were the bullet goes when I fire, be that on the dot or not.
-
WHO CARES? The led doesn't show up on kill cams since it's not in the game....you WILL NEVER KNOW!! You might have played against ppl who had it already, who knows? IF this is cheating, then putting thumbsticks on your controls is cheating, using the controls with the buttons on the back is cheating, having a 4k tv is cheating, having a fiber optic internet connection is cheating, etc etc etc.
-
It friggin said "Always cheat, always win" at the end of the video. There's your answer. It's cheating, and it looks kinda dumb too.
-
If you consider yourself a competitive FPS player, you should already know where your center of screen is...
-
Pretty sure it's one of those fake products like the iPad case that attaches to your steering wheel. If it's real then I don't see the problem. It's giving you something the game already provides, an aim sight. Unless your doing a LASO challenge or something.
-
Its not cheating. Im pretty good at hipfire, I def dont need this. Nobody in MLG would use this, they are way to skilled fir this cheese. But to anybody that needs to work on headshots and hipfire, just play COD zombies and use guns like the an-94, mp5, galil, ak-47, and ak-47u.
-
We sell these at GameStop for like 30 bucks and we sell out all the time its -blam!-ing funny that people need a little light on their TV to show where the center hit marker is
