Forgive my ignorance, but I just came across this and don't know what to make of it just yet. I could see gamers using it in Destiny Crucible.
What do you guys think? Would you buy the Hipshotdot? Apparently they sell is at Gamestop.

I ain't buying, but the noobs who can't even get kills in Crucible can get it... And get rekt

Why isn't it a customizable hdmi overlay? Just put a device between the TV and console that lays another layer you can customize over the output.

what... what on earth.. I'll admit, to get used to new screens a keep a tape dot up for about a week, it helps me acclimate to the center of a larger screen, as I'm used to playing on a smaller screen competitively. but putting a bright LED on your screen for 25 bucks for all your play sessions? uh...not to sure about that. Even once comfortable with a screen's center without a dot, hip fire doesn't just magically become accurate, theres normally a penalty to not scoping in..so basically not cheating but waste of money for sure, look how jittery all the testimonials of random gamers that are clearly friends of the creators are.

Its borderline, but its cheap as in a cheap way to play the game yeah its fun winning but to be winning potentially cause you have gone out of your way to get an advantage here meh - my one liner would be Gamers cheating them selves out of the satisfaction of winning fairly.
-
Why not just memorize where the center is. I constantly aim from hip just fine without a reticle. I play bf4 on hard core mode all the time and the lack of a reticle has made me better at shooters tbh
-
that NlGGA colored line running down the middle of the screen is annoying and i could do that with clear tape and a sharpie

Instead of buying this fancy gadget, can't you just tape a little dot to your screen?
-
OMGG ...the extra G is for GLITTER!
-
That's not cheating. Your girlfriend would have to be pretty insecure in your relationship to get jealous over a red dot.
-
So let me get this straight. They are selling an led light attached to a suction cup wired to a USB port for $25. Anyone who actually pays for this is just hopeless. Plus they used a game where aiming from the hip requires no help you just pull the damn trigger when they are on screen. The messed up games mechanics will do the rest. I really liked the testimonials where they are praising it. It's like these guys were unable to tell where the center of their screens were at before this came along. Holy hell.

^^^ True story... ^^^

That would bug the living crap out of me... Seems like a thing for the FPS novices.
-
Omg This is so funny! people actually do that!? oh man thanks for the good laugh. If I ever saw anyone of my friends do this I would NEVER let them live it down.
-
Yeah and old gag but hard to say if it is cheating or not but... How anyone can run that and call themselves a gamer is ponderous. If I walked into a buddies place and saw that stuck on the TV, the ridicule would be ruthless, non-stop and well earned.
-
Just another way of parting an 'MLG Pro' wannabe from their money. Not that I'd know it, but I wouldn't have an issue if a player was using that in a game I was in. Modpads on the other hand, that's a different matter. My wish is that anyone that makes, sells or uses a modpad gets an itchy bumhole 24/7. See someone uncontrollably scratching their bumhole, they're a dirty cheating scumbag.
-
I want to buy 2 so I'll be twice as good as everyone that only uses one! Noobs.

Edited by Ninja Andrew: 8/9/2014 3:21:30 PMLOLOL not cheating as you can put a sticker on your screen ad it would have the same effect....also who wants to stick that thing to their tv anyways? It'll leave a little suction cup "ring" in the middle of your tv...no thanks. it' s a nice idea..but i'll just continue to use my "imaginary center dot" no wires no muss no fuss The fact that ppl are only figuring this out now is the funny part. just lolol.
-
It's not hard to point the middle of your screen at people...

Edited by BlakGamer64: 8/9/2014 3:46:29 PMWell on one side it does help and all but it also allows newbies and/or Guardians to improve especially if they using the aim assist and on the other it's not really needed if your good enough of a shooter. Basically it's going to reduce your chances of getting killed. But for me personally i dislike using aim assist simply because i want to be better without it and the same applies for the red dot shot lol. I can understand a tiny tiny bit of aim assist but not to the point that it target the enemy and locks on. That's like too much advantage. I'll vote (if you a good enough shooter) "Yes, without a doubt, too much advantage!"

Obviously not made for cat owners. I know mine would be pawing at the screen like mad. It's already bad enough when my mouse cursor runs across the screen, putting a laser dot on it is just asking for disaster.
-
Tough call. It even uses a quote in the promotion as intended by the developers that cheating isn't cheating if you win, so that kinda tipped my scale to yes. That said, peripherals that give an edge could all be considered cheating, (i.e. Gamer glasses). This method, being available to anyone, kinda nullify s any potential advantage.

He's a Beater!
cookies to anyone who got the refrence
i dont think its that bad, i personally wont get one tho. i just hope for the rest of us that is not as effective with sniper rifles.
-
lolwut?

I think this kind of thing ruins the whole experience. Not cheating.
