The only thing that all atheists share is the lack of belief in a god or gods.

Technically, no. But, when filling out a card that says, what religion are you, Atheism should be an option. Just like if someone asks you what kind of car you have "I don't have a car" should be an option.

One could make the argument that a few atheistic beliefs could be religious in nature. But to say atheism is a religion even though its an umbrella term that describes multiple groups is just plain wrong.

2 RepliesI think any atheist who believes the world was created in a certain way is religious, as there is no 100% proven scientific world creation only theories, and believing in a theory takes faith having faith in a world creation theory is what religion is.
