What makes this place special? Nothing really, it's just a place to hang out and socialise and respect other fellow members, this Isnt a group for idiots who like to be edgy on the internet because their mummy and daddy didn't give them a new video game and want to cry about it here, there's plenty of other groups for cancerous people, if you don't fit in, you don't fit in and move on.

So about the new generations and current ones...

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted anything and I wanted to touch down on the new generations topic. What do you guys think about them? How do you see yourself in the next few years as you have kids(or already have them) and look at some of the things they're doing and find out it's way different than what you grew up with? Here's my views: So I remember growing up(im not old btw im just reflecting on younger years) back when phones were still pretty much prehistoric and if you had wi fi in them it was beyond magic but shitty as hell to use and the games on them were....pretty much shite. I still remember when I wen to school, I was probably 13 when phones became a trend to have and it wasn’t until I was probably 14 or 15 when they were everywhere and Smartphones and Ipods and Iphones were common. Then Ipads and now I look back at it and go to see my little sibling's schools and I see 7 year olds with Iphones and im just standing there like "damn, talk about the technological age" and all, the classrooms are filled with kids with their faces stuck to the screen and that also goes to current generations. But one thing baffles me about them....the phone and the wifi in it... So I see kids always asking questions about certain stuff and you know the basics, you answer them right? Well that may have been the only way back then but nowadays with these new stuff shouldn't the new generations know they have the world's information at the tip of their hands? I mean seriously most people never use their phones but to socialise and shop and completely miss the actual benefit of it, "knowledge" im not saying everyone needs it but if you ever have a question you can always look it up on the internet lol :p To end this my views for the new and current generations about the phone being the key to a world of knowledge is the same, most of us probably should just look up somethings instead of asking since we have the tools to. Now for my view is that I have a bit of a worrying feeling that the new generations much like our own now are becoming less and less "interactive" I see kids on the internet more often nowadays and I realise that you can no longer joke around like you used to because these kids will take it WAY too seriously and harshly thus it explains why this place is a bit sensitive sometimes, but I’m not saying everyone is a kid for being sensitive, i just mean that most of it does come from them. All in all I wish to see more face to face interactions from current and newer generations as I have seen a decline in that I mean let's be honest, how many of you have actual social skills? How many of you can keep up a conversation without having moments of silence? Just ask yourselves that and comment below on your thought on what else do you think has changed through the times...
Welp it's nice to see people actually reading through this post, didin't think anyone would take their time
• Well I am 15 years old and live on Brazil and see many things that need be changed really fast, it seems that the more idiot you are the cooler you are nowadays. There are few teenagers that I know that think about the future and respect the older generations, when I see an old forum person talking that this generation is really bad with many disrespectful kids I agree, because it's true, and seems that parents nowadays aren't the same that they were years ago, it seems that kids nowadays don't respect anyone.I thanks everyday that I was raised with my grandparents and that they were old school.

  • There's a quote, can't remember by who, that says: "What would be the hardest thing to explain about modern life to someone from the 1950s?" "In my pocket have a device capable of accessing the entirety of human knowledge. I use it to start arguments with strangers and look at pictures of cats."

  • When I was a kid; phones had cords, and parents were allowed to whoop your ass for talking back. If you failed at something, you didn't get an award, you were taunted. Text messages were on paper, and we used something in school called The Dewey Decimal System. There was no safe space, outside of your bedroom. Bullies actually bullied you, rather than just talking trash on the Internet; because there was no Internet. I'll be damned if I'm going to raise my kids to be like the entitled, whiny, soft pussies that you can't sneeze without hitting in today's society. Those people make me want to puke.

Technology is the problem. We depend to much on electronics to entertain us that it turns into an addiction before you even realise it. Your brain tells you that what you did pleased you and should do it again. Honestly we as a human race would be better of without most tech. I have fallen victim to this sort of thing.

          • 90% of my phone use is for this app and Internet use for reading articles and stuff. I barely ever play games on my phone anymore and I haven't really in years. My ability to keep a conversation going isn't that great, but then again, it never has been, even since before technology really became a large part of my life. I've always been pretty quiet and reserved. Constant talking tires and bores me.

          • On the topic of people taking things way too seriously, I can relate to that. Only my best friends and those other friends that annoy me to hell get to hear "Literally kill yourself" out of me. Yes, society as a whole now is hooked to the Internet, both kids and adults, each for different reasons. To me, it can be an escape from things that normally worry me. I use the Internet a lot for 'intellectual' uses, referring to the whole "world's knowledge" topic. Mostly it's either for music genre research or finding out about antiques that I've found over the years. Plus, believe it or not I've made some friends through it. Acquaintances, at least. Couldn't say quite the same thing outside the Internet considering that I live in a town full of scumbags.
Not like my closest friends are any use either way; I'm always inviting them to do shit and the last time I was ever invited to something was maybe over a year ago. Don't see that improving by the slightest in my near-adult future.
• Im pretty good about conversational stuff, everything that isn't starting one up anyway. But then, I was raised by my grandparents half my life, so there's that we can attribute it to.
