With great power comes great responsibility. Or in this case: with a new website comes a new edition of the Community Carnage! With the new forum structure an opportunity has presented itself in terms of how this group can be used, and I think it is time we use that potential.
In the past this group's purpose has merely been to arrange game events for the community's enjoyment. It is now time to expand on that purpose. This place will not just be for the carnage events, but also a meeting place for people to find other people to play games with. Any game on any platform.
Below follows a simplified list of the things to keep in mind:
Biweekly schedule - the official group events will happen every other week on either Saturday or Sunday at noon Bungie time. Facilitated by one of the Mentors of the group.
Mentors - say goodbye to the Organizers and hello to the Mentors. These people will help organize the "official" group events, and hopefully be cool enough to hang around and answer whatever questions people might have about future Carnage events and other trivia.
Events - new format. The event will only have one thread, which will be posted Thursday before the event is to happen. (So two or three days in advance of the carnage event).
Freedom & public by default - anyone can join the group and anyone can make "looking for group" topics to find friends, but official events still have to go through Mentors. The idea is that anyone can "host" the event (example would be if someone is running a BF3 server and want the Carnage event there), but the Mentors in the group will make it happen. Check this topic for more info.
Guests of honor - some events will have "special guests" which should help boost the fame and popularity of the events.
And lastly, nobody seems to know who is active in this group. So, if you are interested in helping out (or wish to continue to do so) you must send me a message with a few words about yourself and what you think of this concept.
If you have any questions about this transition, we wanna hear them.

Good to see things starting to take off.

Good stuff right here. I was never really into it before but now I might. I'll keep an eye on it.

Edited by Qbix: 2/28/2013 12:14:46 AMJust a reminder: All organizers who wants to continue their involvement via the Mentor role has to PM me. Just let me know what's up. The lists I found here didn't help much in that regard. And if anything is unclear now please ask. And bear in mind that we still haven't figured out all the details yet. This is still a work in progress. And the date of the first Carnage event is still to be announced.

Awesome. Mentor now eh.. I look forward to setting up another gamenight!
-
I'll be happy to join in sometime.
-
Very cool to see this up and running, again.
-
This could be my chance to join :D

Edited by DE4THINC4RN4TE: 2/28/2013 8:34:24 PMI'm not sure about the Mentor title. Doesn't seem to fit with the whole Game Night Niche being run here. Organizer sounded dull, so how about Proprietor? Also, how would these changes affect the long term ideas?

I love Community Carnage. I'd be happy to see expansions.
