RPG? what does it mean?
I have noticed there are a lot of questions about raids; both here and in the general forum.
it seems to me that many people that are getting Destiny are doing so from: reviews, being a Bungie creation, and all the hype that has been generated.
not trying to be rude, but this is a live action FPS MMO ROLEPLAYING game.
if you are not familiar with MMORPGs, or you have found that you don't like that sort, this will be a big shocker to you. true, the most well known mmorpgs are third person hash and slash games. only in the past 10 years the other mmorpgs have been making it good.
now, back to the topic of raids. raids are one of the most important aspects to mmorpgs. raids make most of them what they are; a defining aspect if you like. each game that has raids does it differently, but all have the same basic aspects: 1) raids take time, the length depends upon the knowledge and skill of the group. 2) hierarchy of enemies. 3) labyrinth of the map.
those are not the only aspects, but the few that seem relevant to state.
sorry if this sounds like I am talking down to you, or that I am raging about something trivial. that is not my intent.
I will play with anyone of you at any time and don't want you to hold me in a light I don't belong.
I am I great guy to be around (not my words, me swear ).

Like cross said I'm not trying to talk down to anyone. Just explaining if no one knows or is curious. Every massively multiplayer online game has them now. (As far as I know). They arent just for raids either. Some games have weekly currency caps, weekly quest caps and so on. Just want to help people understand it a little more. So Tuesday rolls around. Its reset day. What does that meen? Well It means exactly what it sounds like! Its a reset! Progress you had twords the raids that week will be Wiped clean.. Can you begin it again soon as the restart is over? Of course you can! You just won't be were you left off, You will be at the beginning. Throughout the week you are able to do the raid as much as you want. Do a boss or two, do half of it, do three quarters of it. Who cares! You can go in as many times as your team wants to that week, so long as you dont complete it. Keep in mind though, if you take down a boss, that boss is down and not reviving until next Tuesday lol. Now say you finished the raid with your fire teams. Does it mean your done with it for good? No of course not! You are just now in a temporary thing called a lock out and, have to wait until tuesday morning to do it all again. It helps to prevent clans or teams from farming it over and over and over again and, basically giving them an advantage over everyone else. With the Tuesday restart, that prevents the massive farming. I hope this helped and, cross thank you as well. Like I said I'm not trying to be rude either just helping out.
