So no PC version?
After watching the reveal on IGN. They indicated that there will be no PC version. Why? No PC version won't stop me from playing the game, but I just feel they will be missing out on potentially thousands maybe millions who only play on the PC. Hopefully the next generation of consoles is powerful enough to give the experience that Bungie wants because lets face it the current gen is reaching its limits.

6 RepliesIt's funny, this is probably the exact same discussion that was had when Halo moved from Mac to the Xbox. "How can they do that? They'll miss out on the Mac [PC] userbase, and there's no way a console can provide the same quality FPS [MMO-style] as a PC." Look how that turned out. If any company can pull off bringing an MMO-style game to consoles, it's Bungie. Besides, they haven't ruled out a PC version, and I mean come on, this is Activision we're talking about. They seem to like money.

I can imagine they might do a version for PC "at a later date", but not before they release the game on consoles. Most people shouldn't be surprised by this as Bungie has done it before for some of their other games.

If they do release it on PC they should really stick to it and release the rest of the sequels on PC unlike what they did with Halo.

I'm not planning on buying any console of the 8th generation, so I might just miss out on Destiny. After finally assembling a good PC, I don't feel a need for consoles anymore.

Considering all the people I've seen complaining about the lack of a PC announce for Destiny, you'd think Bungie would get the hint and at least tell us something in regards to a potential PC release or lack thereof. Either way, if it's not for PC, chances are I won't play it. Never owned a console. Probably never will. I survived without playing Halo (Except for Halo: CE), I can survive not playing Destiny. GD

what i understood is that bungie is going to release the pc version when the destiny 2 game is released and consider that they are considering the thousands of people that are on pc but mabe pc will be recieving bonus in game content later on then again think about it cionsols really don't have a game of his caliber or gionra maybe halo but even then pc has wow so I think it evens out

3 RepliesI like how people automatically assume "if there is no physical copy up now then no pc" no pc game nowadays are distributed physically, it all goes through a service like Steam, which usually put the game up for pre-order on a later date i think bungie is being ninjas like they are, some sources say they want it on PC, some dont.

There is something huge people are failing to take into consideration. Destiny is developed by Bungie, this is true. However it is published by Activision. This means that not only does Activision print, distribute, and market the game, but they also fund it. If Activision does not fund a PC version, it will not happen. It is Activision's call. Simple as that.

I would much prefer to play this game on PC than on a console. All my friends have gaming PCs, and since this is a game about playing with people...

PC gamers support the games they love for longer than most people live. -edit- Sorry, I figured I wouldn't have to point out that the above is an extreme hyperbole for the sake of hilarity. My point was that people still play games like Freelancer (released 2003) regularly, and there are always plenty people working to keep their favorite games compatible with each new iteration of Windows or Mac OS, whereas backwards compatibility is generally shoddy on consoles. In short, if I bought Destiny on PC this year, I will be able to play that same copy of the game ten years from now without having to drag out old hardware. Hopefully backwards compatibility on consoles becomes more common. Also, I just realized that Freelancer is 10 years old, and I have it on my PC right now. (I know what I'm doing tonight!)

Unfortunately it seems that there is no PC version -- so far. I'm sure the game developers will address the question in the near future.

I haven't been to the forums in awhile, I've loved Bungie's games, Halo 3 got me to back track Halo 2 and 1. Honestly Halo 1 took me from consoles to PC. I understand that the market is with the consoles and are the money makers but I find PC to give a much better experience. I too have grown to prefer the Keyboard/Mouse Combo over Gamepads. I'm also not here to say that consoles are bad they have made games much more popular and bring in a lot of new gamers. I find it sad that I have to worry if a game from the company I love will be on the platform I love. Anyways Ill end up picking up the game either way. Still have my Xbox 360 as dusty as it may be. All in all I wish Bungie and next-gen consoles the best.
