Is destiny going to be cross platform multiplayer ?
As the game will be on console and pc will it be possible for me to play with my friends who get it on pc and PS4 ?

3 RepliesImpossible each system like Xbox 360 and ps3 have their own servers and in order to link they would rah have to make a bridge server and most likely one of the companies won't agree

There are no plans to make this game pc available yet and it has already been stated by bungie themselves that cross platform play will NOT be possible for destiny

I would love this game even more if it was cross-platform it would make each multiplayer game more exciting because different platforms hate each other but sadly this will not happen

2 RepliesIn all fairness I don't think Microsoft and Sony would allow it. Games like Shadowrun are a complete different story, MS owns both WLG as XBL. But PSN and XBL are opposites. There is also the problem with how the game would deal with XBL and PSN usernames and how they would connect. I guess it could be possible by identifying you through your Bungie account.

Also in the feature, Bungie reiterated that Destiny will be a game that appeals to "busy" people, like those with family and full-time job responsibilities and may only have a few hours per week to spend on video games.

MS has already stated that the 360 and X1 can't communicate like two 360s can because of the difference in system architecture, the situation between the PS3 and PS4 will likely be the same and I doubt either next gen console will support cross platform play with PCs (if Destiny ever goes to the PC).

Will Destiny be cross platformed among similar devices? For example, can I be on the Xbox one and play with a friend on the 360? Can I be on the PlayStation 4 while a friend is on the ps3?

These muther-blam!-ers know what we want but need to stall to find out how they can make us financially worse off for it , like that waiter who never refills your drink but then gets pissed when you dont tip his ungrateful ass...and why the -blam!- cant this shit be on the wii u ?? it runs mass effect 3 just fine ,or atleast put some kind of bungie shooter on there JEEZUS ...make a new marathon , or heres an idea ...cross platform a game where the systems are litterally at war with whatever weapons they can licence ,every nintendo soldier with access to fire flowers master swords and poke balls ,every ps elite catalog filled to the brim with ...whatever exclusive bullshit they havent sold off to the other companies yet ,microsofts lame ass can hold onto halo with a death grip if they want ...which ,by the way makes me puke in my mouth a little bit every time i look at the cover of halo 4 and in the place of bungie is 343 ...wtf! hey while were at it lets fire slipknot ,keep there name and songs and just have there roadies run around pretending to be them ...they -blam!-ing killed cortana !!! CORTANNNAAAAAHHHHHHH! laptops are already cheaper and sometimes more powerfull than a console , id say the consumer deserves interest on its investment by this time.

I truly hope, as i do with Splitscreen... That it is possible. That will make the community much more massive and will trump alot. Though i think going crossplatform would pose server issues, and a lot of bugs. Though im no programmer just an opinion.. I doubt it, but i would hope if its possible they would do that

I've seen no news coming out as an official statement from Bungie stating such. If anyone has a link to confirm or deny this I think it would solve this issue. But.....if you paid attention to the Game Informer interviews, specifically Lars Bakken's interview, you would see they only allow communication within your fire team. Secondly, Bakken states that they have functions in place to allow for non-fire team members to communicate. He states the only way to talk across different fire teams is to get into say an xbox party or ps4 party chat. This leads me to believe that cross platforming may happen because they have the tools in place to communicate without speech.
