Will the Titan be slow because it will probably have better weapons and armor?

Edited by Phantom Bullet: 4/5/2013 3:07:32 PMI think, that he isn't going to be as fast as the others. For example, if the warlock started with an agilty-value of 5, the titan might start with a base value of 3 and the hunter with a value of 7, which would be logical in my opinion, since they have a difference in the weight of the armor they wear. The titan might have higher stats on shield and the warlock on energy. And discipline could have the same value for every of those classes (or a value increased for a fourth class). And well, afterwards it might change depending on how you customize him, by either increasing it's strength or it's weakness. Maybe the growth of the respective values also depends on the chosen class.

It all depends on what Bungie wants to do with the Character customization. To be honest I don't think that the Titan is actually gonna be slower due to it's armor and weapons. The fact is his suite gives him superior strength so I can assume speed could be included. Edited by Coup de Grace: 4/6/2013 5:19:53 AMI hate stats. The classes don't excel in some areas, they are merely weakened in others and forced to play a certain style because of it.

IMO, the differences between classes won't be many, and maybe the mobility will be affected by a "weight value", which is the sum of the weights of your weapons (if you're carrying more than one) and (even if this is less probable) armor. With this system let's assume the Titan has a SLIGHTLY lower mobility, at the same time he would be able to carry heavier equip without getting affected/without getting affected as much as the other classes. This system probably would work nicely and assuming that each class would perform better with a kind of a weapon (damage bonus on a certain weapon depending on the class?) would make more sense: Titan would be a deadly tank with a machine gun, Warlock has magic (or more than the other classes?) to compensate his lack of resistance/inability to carry heavy weaponry, Hunter would excel with sniper rifles and long range weapons. That's my opinion but in my head it makes sense

I'd assume all three races would move at the same rate. The Titan may have an ability which increases damage and health and decreases movement speed, but I would assume that's the extent of movement penalties. I doubt Bungie would hinder a class with something like a permanent movement penalty. And as far as I'm aware, every class will have access to the same weapons, but some classes may be able to get buffs to certain ones.

I wouldn't necessarily say they have better weapons. We've seen Warlocks and Titans wielding the same standard Assault Rifle Weapon, so it doesn't necessarily mean that Classes in Destiny are like Classes in Mass effect where they are heavily restricted. Of the base stats we've seen, there's Energy, Shields, Agility, and Discipline. I imagine that each of the three classes have different base values to help make the Flavor of the classes come to life, but those values should be modifiable in some fashion.

I agree with the others, extra benefits rather than hindrances would be the way to go imo. Possibly like borderlands, each class starts off with a greater efficiency in one type of weapon and has unique abilities. Hopefully it will be fleshed out and more in depth because the borderlands model is a little top simplistic for my tastes. I'm sure there will be some shared abilities / magic / Traveller' s powers.

It is possible. What else could agility mean? I think it's likely that the titan will move slower due to lower agility stats but that you will be able to raise these up a bit depending on what race you choose. e.g. an exo titan could have lower agility than an awoken titan
-
Probably not since it's a warrior type and will need to be up front against the Ai while the other classes play to their strengths.
-
It is possible it's gonna be like the average Spartan from Halo. (probably)
-
I think it may feel heavier and be less agile, but move at the same speed.
-
It will most likely be a little bit slower and less agile, but what it lacks in speed and agility, it will make up for in other things.
-
That is so interesting..... I wonder what people will have to say! XD

I doubt that speed would change, I think that only benefits should come from the different classes rather than hinderances.
