Edited by DestinyInvestors: 4/8/2013 2:21:36 AMThey're four places I'm doing a repost of this because I don't know where I posted my comment or where I put my reply. There is a the Tower (Usual Safe Hangout), Tower (Hangar), Spaceship (Hangar), and Just explore around the safe city for a chill spot. Check out our Channel on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/user/DestinyInvestors?feature=mhee Here's our latest video btw.

I dunno but this is odd to me why would you want to meet new people through destiny.
-
Edited by Glitched: 9/22/2013 8:16:58 AMGosh, I absolutely hate it when I don't feel like shoting. There's absolutely nothing to do!
-
You want it to be like Club Penguin?
-
I want a dress uniform to go to fancy award ceremonies.
-
I hope there will be games to play and hobbies you can have in Destiny. It would be really cool to go to the shooting range or go fishing. To play a sport with other guardians would be a great way to chill when you don't want to be in the heart of the action.
-
I am hoping that the character creation is as good or even better than EVE
-
Of course. How would I scam other players and amass hordes of wealth otherwise?
-
I want to be able to buy a soccer ball from an ingame store, go to a field and kick it around with my friends who are at different colleges. I would seriously love if Bungie if they did that.
-
When I don't feel like shoting, I usually explote instead. Exploting is a lot of fun.
-
Yea it will be cool a place that u can chill and relax and trade with other players
-
Seeing as how it's a social game, I'm pretty sure there will be. You can always go exploring, cruise around in your ship, or just admire the scenery.

Edited by MasterBarek: 4/7/2013 2:51:14 AMHeck yeah! It's one of the things I'm really looking forward to. I feel like some of these areas will be split up according to factions but it would be great if clans and individuals could own property within the city. I don't think it would detract too much from the overall social aspect. Some level of customization of these areas would be nice too.
-
I'm going to guess there will be multiple gamemodes people can get into. Racing Pikes. Gambling at the slots or on Pike Races or through multi-player card games. Certain sport like games. I don't know what Bungie has in store for us, but there will be lots aside from just shooting and killing things.
-
That is part of the fun, walking around the city and finding a place where fellow guardians are sitting around and chatting about their adventures. There might even be recruiting posts for clans who are seeking to add you to their ranks.
-
i Hope there's a Pub or a Tavern or something.
-
Pfft sounds like ME...i dont want ME in my Destiny,i want Destiny in my Destiny...'nuff said.
-
Sure, minus the formal part There'll be times where parties just decide to mess around and talk about whatever, you don't need an actual spot to do it Personally I find conversations about whatever more engaging when there's isn't a place like that in a video game
-
Sure, any way to meet up and show off some loot or trophies is good by me.
-
We go to the pub. I hope there's a "drag your drunk ass friend home" mechanic.
-
Every great game needs to have this :). Like Sony and their PS Home for example. Great way to relax, kick back and just socialize with people :). Don't have to be playing a game and if you are it's nothing intense, but more relaxing. So a hub for people to kick back and socialize sounds perfect to me :). Maybe put it in the last safe city or space stations. I like the idea. Hopefully they put a hub like that in here. Can't go wrong with that.

Fa sho. Check out these quotes from two different Eurogamer articles.
But there are many many other activities that cross the divide between story and multiplayer in this world of Destiny, and your character is going to go through all of them. So, whatever character you are in story is the same character you are in all these other activities, including competitive multiplayer. And so, our hope is that it will feel like a consistent experience. Your legend will take you through all these different activities. Some are more narrative driven. Some aren't. Some are just more emergent. But you're a consistent character across all of those. That's the key. That's where that consistent experience comes from.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-04-03-destiny-character-classes-races-and-teamtigerman
He tells a story based on his own character, and it is one that gives us our clearest indication of how Destiny will, structurally, play. Guardians live in one of the towers in the wall that surrounds the city. When not out fighting to reclaim the old worlds, players mill about in the tower's Overwatch District, where other players hang around, much like they do in World of Warcraft's Orgrimmar and Stormwind. Some are gambling for better gear, Staten says. Others are simply admiring the shifting real-time shadows of the day/night cycle. Destiny's fact sheet mentions the city, the social space players will use to refuel, repair, and rearm before going out on their next adventure, will be played in third-person.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-17-destiny-bungie-unveils-its-shared-world-shooter

The Last City is said to be the "chill" spot you're thinking about. All you need to do is find an area within the city and chill there. I will probably be spending most of my time just hanging with my friends and screwing around in the Last City.
-
That would be awesome! socializing is one of my favorite parts of games. I'd love to see some safe areas where people hang out, meet new people, or even trade gear.
-
I would be all for a place where I can chill with my friends under a small tree; near a main road. If I still want combat without shooting, lets hope for some hardcore melee battles.

In Bungie's GDC panel with Joseph Staten and Chris Barratt they did show some concept art which showed something of a city center gathering type place, which I think Staten then went on talk about how players would be able to meet and greet, plan, trade loot in a place such as that. I, for one, definitely think that safe zones such as that will be put into Destiny. :-)
