Should Destiny have a great economy with auction houses etc?
I truly hope so! Would be nice to show off my gold and to buy/sell my loots!

Naw. I think it should have a crappy economy with exorbitant prices and meager loot drops. Further, I think that 'player-owned-houses' should be available, but no bigger than a closet in Ur-anus. That would be spectacular. :D

I could see more of a trade channel where you tell people you have things to sell or are looking for something. All transactions would be done through private interactions after you find someone on the trade channel. This would make the game feel more like, " I just found this powerful piece of gear maybe a fellow guardian could use it" rather than, " I want more money for this stuff I found and don't care about."

3 RepliesThis isn't a game where there are adventurers and merchants and scribes and so on whoa re all PCs. All the players are guardians. They are to guard, not toy with the stock market. I don't understand the appeal of playing destiny instead of EVE if you have no intention of using a gun or actually doing your job as a guardian.

No auction houses, but a good buy/trade system would work just as well...

No it should not. Main reason is because i don't want people to just buy the best gear and so forth. Plus it takes away from social interaction, which we all know is a center point around this game. But it also would not fit with the mythic sci-fi role of this game. All in all i don't think it would fit in the game very well at all.

1 ReplyI honestly dont know if that'll be in Destiny. It is an MMO, but definitely not a typical MMORPG. I'm sure they will have NPC vendors and trading options, but i doubt an auction house will be in the game.

I already plan on selling rediculous amounts of goods, so an auction would help for selling that awesome gun that I don't use enough. I also plan on having an armory filled with all sorts of commonplace but effective guns, just in case I need to get a group armed fast.

Adventure in this game would totally be my thing, but there needs to be something for the people who don't. Where some won't head out to fight, instead they make their life within the city. Just an option that should be there.

The auction house idea is more RPG than FPS but still a player run economy is a nice touch to any MMO. I would imagine there will be NPC traders to sell your excess loot and I would imagine you would be able to trade 1 to 1 with someone for in game credits.

It sounds like a cool idea, but I'm not sure about it. I find it more enjoyable to actually trade and farm my gear. Maybe if the auction house was only for parts, material, heals, and little things like that I would be in... but I'm not for just buying epic gear.

1 ReplyI wouldn't want to see this thing. It would ruin the incentive to go and actually find weapons. You could just kill enemies for gold and buy weapons at the auction house.

Auction houses would be a great idea because crafting or customizing and trading have been confirmed. If implemented, this could become a great feature.If i'm lazy with a fat wallet, I wouldn't mind going somewhere to just splurge on pre-customized guns that I might not find on my journeys.

If they have crafting then an auction house seems like a given.
