Supreme Court rules that human genes cannot be patented.
This is just great, now the pharmaceutical corporations can't patent natural genes which could help treat afflictions and help with future medical research.
Any thoughts?

Excellent. Patenting genes that could have huge benefits for the mankind is just wrong.

Of course they shouldn't be patented, human genes aren't an invention.

No one invented human genes, they shouldn't be patented in the first place. Patenting genes may have been proposed with the right interests in mind, but there are certainly some sick f**ks who would manipulate them.
