Any thoughts?
I personally agree, Christianity is the most dominant religion in the UK and America.

We claim to be persecuted? News to me.

Edited by Donkey_Hotay: 8/25/2013 8:55:03 AMJon Stewart had a good bit about the supposed persecution of Christians a while back, where he said something along the lines of "you're confusing persecution with not getting your way all the time"

Thank you, Archbishop

Edited by ToastyWaffles: 8/23/2013 2:31:17 PMAs a western Christian, I agree. It always makes me uncomfortable when I hear somone I know talk about persecution here in the UK, because it's almost non-existant. We are not in fear for our lives, our possessions or our human rights. I'd say we're doing pretty good. Edit: Others do make a point though, how should we define persecution? Is it not the same as discrimination? I'm no law student so I can't really answer that question, but I'm still inclined to not use the term "persecution" lightly.

Christians persecuted in the UK and US? LOLOLOLOLOL

Okay. There really isn't any of that brutal persecution in first world countries. But since 'persecution' isn't defined as narrowly as his mass-slaughter criterion, this seems a bit pointless. A person is persecuted when they are harassed, mistreated, or marginalized by another. This does happen. But it also happens to pretty much every other "community" because everyone will never agree on everything. And frankly, I'd rather have people complaining about being harassed than being massacred.

I agree, but where is the "persecution line" drawn? Atheists are hardly being murdered by the bucketload, but plenty of them have persecution complexes too.
-
I agree totally its laughable how they say they are being 'persecuted'.
-
I used to think that, but then I watched The Thaw, and my life is changed.
-
I didn't know other Christians believe that they are persecuted in the two countries. Pretty dumb.

whoever this guy is has got the right idea. these people don't know what's really like to be persecuted.
Any thoughts?
It's strange to see a Christian who's fetish-for-humble-meek-and-persecuted doesn't taint absolutely everything they say.
Former
Oh, that explains it, I guess.

Heh. I like the guy.
