My Thoughts:
Very exciting indeed! Not only do we have an interesting plot line that might solve some mysteries, including what Chief's been up to, but it also gives us the number of those Composed in New Phoenix. Meaning that Requiem was host to 7 Million Promethean Knights in February 2558.
The unfortunate side of things, is that Schlerf is no longer writing Escalation, meaning his involvement with the Halo Franchise is finished. To make things worst, we have Brian Reed writing Escalation now. The guy responsible for Initiation and the dialogue of Spartan Ops.

So... How bad was it?
-
after i watch the flash pilot leak i'll get around to reading this and i'll begin writing for the archive again

Is there a thread about issue #6?

Ermagherd so excit-
Brian Reed (W)
...

Isn't he the writer for the next mainline title? If Brian Reed fooks this one up - as he has done with SpOps and Initiation - then how are we supposed to feel about Halo 5's story? Would we have to just lower expectations to 0, and fear for the future.

Yay! I can't wai-
Brian Reed
-blam!-. That.

You slay me Loa. You slay me. Kidding. ANYWAYS The ever unwelcome creative team shift strikes again! Seeing as the artist team from the previous issue has changed, along with the writer, it looks like Schlerf is off the boat permanently. The art shift is odd. Even the slowest art teams can usually get at least 4 issues finished before a shift is needed (eg Clayton Crain, Jae Lee). The Spirit of Fire story being a mere 2 issues is also odd. Very few series have two-parter stories. 4-6 issues is more common. Maybe it is so they fit Schlerf's entire run in a single trade. Pure speculation: executive meddling would not be unsurprising.

So what the hell is the Didact going to do with the 7 million Prometheans he has?

Issues #6 and 7 combined. Awesome piece of art...

I'm willing to give Brian a chance. Hope he will deliver as he has some big shoes to fill in. Plot sounds exciting btw :)
