Why are some gamers today still blinded by nostalgia?
Don't get me wrong, the best memories I had of gaming was back when I was a little kid playing the N64. I get how we look back at those happy memories and are fooled into believing it was because games back then was better, but I'm an idiot. I realize that gaming today is MUCH better in nearly every aspect if not, all when it comes to technology, options, and gameplay. I'm not trying to imply (for example) CoD is better than a classic like Ocarina of Time.
However there's still people out there that just won't admit it, and I find it SO frustrating when some fans constantly complain how games today suck, and they wish certain series would go back COMPLETELY to the way they were. Why do they think these older games would succeed into today's generation of gaming? WHY DAMMIT? Are they really that blind by nostalgia to use a bit of common sense?
EDIT: Didn't realize so many people on bnet still considers the older gaming generation better, but hey, if you care to explain, I'll try and comprehend.

1 ReplyGames back in the day use to be about something. A story that made you want more and a new advance in gaming in every title. Today games work on a multiplayer and if have time try and make the campaign worth playing. Games today are better in the sense that they have more to work with but if the whole "live" aspect was taken out of today's gaming it would blow old games out of the water. Look at games like Arkham City and Far Cry 3 as a few example. Two of the best games ever made bar none. The sole focus was story and campaign gaming and as stated they turned out amazing. Again you take out "live" older games have no chance but pound for pound older games were way better. Post Script: That was more of a rant then trying to make a point so it's more then likely incoherent but I don't wanna read it over so blow me.
